Hello there,

FSX, Quality Wings 757 , FSUIPC, Windows 8.1, Mobiflight , Arduino Mega R3, Rotary Switch (12 Pins + Single Ground )

At present i am making an EFIS control panel for the B757-QW. There is no operational Offsets or Event IDs for the EFIS ( Range and Mode Selector )
The L:Vars don't seem to work, have tried that option also.

So i created mouse macros to move the dial up and down, assigned mouse macros to keys ( "2" = increase range , "3" Decrease Range )

I Created 5 Buttons assigned each one of them a Pin on the Arduino (PINS- 2,3,4,5,6 ) . After which i assigned KEYS to increase the range and it works wonderfully
I can increase the range all the way to 320NM, Now the problem is how do i reduce the range ??

Each pin already has an assignment :-/ and since i am using the KEYS option there are no PARAMETERS option

Hope someone can shed some light on this topic.

Your on the wrong way here.

You say you create 2 Mouse Macros that increase / decrease the EFIS.
But in this situation we NOT like to Increase/decrease the EFIS..... We like to SET the EFIS to a special position.

As i said in other Topic.... The key here is to undertand the QW System.
Is there a key/Joybutton menue you can set inputs to functions..... For example the PMDG got a Menu ( within the virtual FMC) where you can set for example a Key for EFIS Range 10 another key for Range 20 and so on.
If not you MUST find out if there are internal events ( you can controll/run with Lvar commands) or if there is a Lvar you can set to a Offset (writeable) .

If there is absolutly no way you must think about a improvisional solution.... A Multi position rotary switch can not work with Increase/Decrease..... But a Encoder can.
So maybe key is to use a Encoder instead. this will work!
Good Luck !

Welcome to QW 757 limited panel.

I am sorry pizman and my frriend to say that none of the rotary switches in the panel doesn't work as pizman said.

I have found the luas but I tried all the things but there is no way. The problem is: I assigned the auto brake to rto which is "L:auto_brake_switch" 0, the switch in the aircraft comes to RTO pozisiton. However after several flights, I discovered that switch comes to RTO or Auto brake 1, 2 , 3 but the aircraft doesn't recognize this change and it behaves like it is OFF. When I assign increase decrease function, It works. When I assign it to a desired position, there is no autobrake when I landed.

How I solved this issue. I used mobiflight precondition settings and the autobrake annunciator which is also not simulated in QW757. I know the logic of the autobrake annunciator my friends but I solved it using this annunciator as an indicator of when I make the switch 1 the offset comes to 1 and I turn the rotary encoder to 2. Not to behave it nonsense because I write preconditions and when they are not achieved and I turn the switch it may create an error...

Briefly, None of the rotary switches in QW757 behaves like go to desired positions. They only work in decrease and increase logic. You have to find creative solutions like me :) . This is not PMDG my friend :) . If you love this bird, and want to make a cockpit using it, you have to be very very creative and you shouldn't forget that it won't be a 100% working project. :) :) :)

Take it easy...

@ bennnozgurum @pizman82

Thanks a lot for your valuable inputs, apologies for my late reply as i have been out flying and now get only 2 days a week to work on my 757 Project.

I did try all the L:Var, i found out that every time i move the EFIS range button, the L:var changes from 1, 2, 3, 4 ,5 i tried assigning this to keys but then that also did not work.
As advised by @ bennnozgurum @pizman82 i used an encoder and i have been able to control the EFIS range and Mode, something better than nothing right :P

@ bennnozgurum - I have found that Captain Sim 757, comes with a published SDK and the interface seems pretty good, Am just in the process of figuring out how to use the SDK,
would be great if we could exchange email IDS, -" flyingjayaraj@gmail.com " - Shall send you a copy of the SDK, maybe we could exchange ideas on how to go about this.

@pizman82 - Is there any user manual for Mobi-flighjt  there are so many options that i have to explore, would be great if i could read and get a better understanding.

Hi Ray

Badly you are a kind of user, thats verry rare. Most people today won´t read a manual.... they work "try and error" . So we not invest time to write long manuals.
Whatever there exist..... From the early time of MF. Some features in that manual no longer exist ( like multiply field) others are not included that come much more later in the system.... BUT you can pretty sure use it to undertand "most" of the software.

Check out the "Documentation" Section in the menue above.....
Here is the manual https://www.mobiflight.com/en/documentation/software.html
Also check the "Tutorial" Tab nearby.
Good Luck !
