Hi, I'm trying to drive 7 rotary encoders, with their switches with one Arduino Mega. I have seen conflicting information in my info searching. Basically:

-Can an Arduino Mega handle 7 encoders?
-Which pins should I be using?
-Which pins should I avoid?

Basicly.....
20 Encoders are Possible on a Board. ( So 7 are no Problem)
Up to 50 Input Buttons are work fine. ( So your 7 are OK, too)
A summery of 50 Input Pins is allowed as i know ( In your case 14+7=21 .... No Problem finaly)
If you alos use Output on that Board get sure you not overrung 53 Overall Pins ( Basicly we can use more with newest reelease and Analog support.... But this is Buggy at the moment.)

Summary....

Use Pin 02-53 ( NOT USE Pins 00 and 01 at any time) ...... And Not use Analog Pins until we Fix the issues there.
Your Setup with 7 Encoders and Push Buttons should be working fine !
