Hi everyone

I am thinking of building NAV and COM panel by using dual rotary encoders from ELMA.

Do I have to build it using 16 pulse /16 detent ?

Because I read the forum and it says otherwise with the ratio 1:2, I would have to turn it twice to have 1 increment or pulse. Am I right ? Can anyone help me about the problem ?

Thanks.
Best regards.

If 16, 24 or 32 detents... that doesn't really matter, it's up to your choice and comfort :)

Regarding the 2:1 ratio, you are correct at this time. Maybe we get a per-detent-detection in the future of MobiFlight.
Another practicable solution is the way to detect and define encoder detent pulses as joystick switch inputs. That works with all simulators like FSX, P3D and XPlane.
Some threads to this issue are in this forum.

Best regards

Chris
