Hello,

Is there anyway we can possibly disable the Mobiflight Connector from automatically checking for updates?

This becomes a problem for us when there is a pending update notification in the background, then our connected encoders don't work until the update request is responded to.

This is a problem because the instructors normally only interact with the instructor PC, FS and Mobiflight Connector run on a second PC. So each time there is a pending update we get a call and have to talk the instructors through getting on the FS PC and responding to the update request.

Any suggestions of a work around or whether adding this functionality in a future version will be possible?

Regards,
Roger

You can disable it when the update dialogue pops up. There should be the option, no updates or skip next update.
Would that work for you?
Have a great day!
Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,

Thank you, I couldn't see 'No Updates' so I've selected 'Skip This Version' and it has gone away for now.

My remaining question is will the dialog return when you release the next update (e.g. 7.4.1)? We'd like the dialog to go away permanently and we will do manual updates when needed instead, is this how it currently works?

Roger

I Basicly understand your problem but i´m a bit confused about the workaround.....

When you startup your system you need to RUN Mobiflight..... a Autorun is not possible i think. ( I Mean you can "Autostart" MF but you have to klick on the RUN Button in MF youreself)
So... A Update Warning normaly come only on Systemstart and not while MF is running active... Right ??

Simple Question... In that situation (Every Systemstart) you already need to work at the MF/FSX PC.... Whats the problem to accept or skipp the Update ?
Good Luck !

Hi pizman82,

When we startup the system a script runs MFConnector.exe and the MFConnector has the Autorun option selected. So under a normal startup this happens in the background and all they see is FS loading. The only user interaction with this FS PC is to press the power button and the rest of the process is automatic. They have a separate PC running the instructor station software which they normally use to control the sim.

When the update notification appears FS loads over the top and they don't usually notice that, but the hardware connected through Mobiflight doesn't work because of the pending update notification which is currently hidden by FS Window.

We have a lot of different instructors who operate the sim and they aren't familiar with Mobiflight, most are pilots and not simmers so they are not good with the software. Unfortunately they can't be expected to plug a mouse and keyboard into the FS PC and look for an update notification each time they have an issue.

I hope this explains more clearly why we need Mobiflight to run each time and not to stop and wait for the update notification response.

Roger
