Hi. I've made myself a 6-axis Bravo-inspired throttle quadrant and used 10k pots for each axis. On some of them, the max value goes over 1024 and the software does not detect that movement but the pot still moves. The minimum value is around 80-70. Is there a way to compensation for that because despite the range ends, pot still moves and there's a dead-zone on max. level?

hhhmmm

For sure there can be a deadzone on both Ends .... But normaly the deadzone is "within" the Range.
Means most potis not go from 0-1024 they goy e.g. from 20 to 998 ..... So on the Physical Endstops they are not at Min0 and MAx1024 .... they are between.
This can be recalculated with the software in a easy way by a formula setting. We simply say ( in that example) that Poti Data from 20 represent "0" and Poti Data from 998 represent 1024 and we easy split ( interpolate) the Full value range into this reduced Raw Value .

BUT

Yours looks like is different.... You have a movement above the Limit.... But i expect there is also no readable data in your Pot there . 1024 means 5v There can be not more like 5v eather. So its no fault by the software. Its a mechanical/electrical fault of the Pot i would say.

Solutuion:
Do you need a full Movement of the Pot ???
For Throttle we normaly talk about a movement range of 90-120° Most pots have 140-190° Range.
So why not simply mount the Pot in a way where you avoid the upper side or best way where you also avoid the lower end.
Means the physical Stops of the Pot are far over or under the mechanical Endstop by the frame of your Throttle quadrant.
In that case e.g. Your throttle give in Lowest Position a value of e.g. 125 and in highest position something like e.g. 890.
Now same logic like explaned above.... We calculate this reduced range into the Input value
Then the full move range have clean and logical values and we finally just use a formula to say 125=0% 890=100%
Good Luck !

Hi pizman,

Yeah its interesting, they are kinda cheapo pot's, maybe thats why. I solved that by physically tinkering the gears a bit. Now its ok!
