My existing overhead pannel with an Arduino Mega uses 68 ports as inputs. Connected with Jims Link2fs to FSX works fine yet. Now i like to modify my cockpit for flying also X-plane 11 with the great MobiFlight tool. I now, with a matrix the problem can be eliminated, but i dont like to modify my working hardware. Do i have a chane that the limit of 50 buttons will fall?

Sorry... Maby i missunderstood you.
It sounds you NOT use a Matrix at the moment..... But Please explane me how you set 68 Buttons without a Matrix to one Arduino ?
Please explane youre setup..... How Many Arduinos ? And how do you set the Inputs ?

Maby you not understand the Mobiflight limit....
You can use a maximum of 50 Inputs ( it increase from 40 to 50 in last version) ON EVERY Board.
Instead of Link2FS the Number of Boards in Mobiflight is not limited,... So 50 Inputs not mean the Project.... it means ONE Arduino.
If you use 20 Arduinos in youre Cockpit you can set 1000 Inputs. ( 20x50) for example.

**************
Finaly.... There are plans ( OpenSource) to implement a Matrix System too and to work with shift registers.....
Don´t know the status of this features and when they are availible.
Good Luck !

Hello pizman82,
Thanks for your answer.
My overhead panel is existing since 2 years and i dont feel hungry to modify it, but now i have noticed that all analog ports (from 54 to 69) are not working as digital ports with MobiFlight, so i have no chance exept to switch to matrix configuration.
No problem, so i have all advantages of MobiFlight and no more limitations.

OK... Now i understand... Youre old Software supports Analog Ports, too..... Yes. this is not posible with mobiflight at the moment.....

But let me say one thing....
I Understand 100% that nobody like to Rebuild a complete Panel from building the Frontpanel and drilling holes for switches and so on....

But in youre situation ???
You only need to get a new Arduino nearby the old one and simply pull 20 Cabels out from one Conroller and then set it into the other Arduino.... I Think a work of less then 30 Mins.

Not realy a Problem.... ins´t it ?
Good Luck !
