Hello everybody, Aliexpress sells 7 Segments 5 digits 0.36 inches. The problem is that there are options, I mean 1,2,3,4 or 5 bit common cathode. Does anybody able to help me?

Hi

At first you always need "Common CATHODE" ..... The Max7219 Chip we use is based for that Displays.
the Common Anode looks same but work in a inverted logic.... So they are used for other Controlers!

The "Bit" is a little missunderstanding here ( maybe in case of poor translation from Chineese to France).
For me it looks that means simply "Number of Diggits"

So.... If the text of your Link is correct, then there are 1,2,4 and 5 Dig Segemnts in Common Cathode there ( 3 is out of Stock)
Each "order" include 4 pieces of Diggits (as said in text)

Last thoughts:
1. Is RED ok for you ?
Stephan and me spent many time to find a shop for WHITE Diggits..... Cause we want to be modular..... Most people will set a Frame with a plastic thick foil on it to cover the Display from dust e.g. This foil can be done "clear" then it is still white. If you use e.g. a green foil then the White Display is now Green. Same for Blue, Yellow, Red, Purple.
So.... From White you can build all others.... With Red the options are more limmited.

2. Do you plan for a PCB use, or do you want to "wire" the Displays with cables yourself ?
With Cables i think its more logical to buy the Displays you need .... 3Dig e.g. for CRS ..... 6 Digs e.g. for ALT and so on.
Reason... A 5 Dig Display have e.g. 13 Pins ..... Would it be a 5x1 Block, then it got 45 Pins .... So many many more work to wire it !
Also here our thought is to be "modular"
With 1Diggit Displays you can Build every Element you need.... E.g. a 6 Dig Display is simply done by set 6x 1 Diggit together.
But sure.... Only logical with PCB´s so you not need to handle the wires and only solder them on the PCB!

By the way.... We finally work with 2 and 3 Dig ( in case 1 Dig in White was to expensive) .
So we build e.g. 4Dig by 2x2 ..... 5Dig by 1x2 and 1x3 ..... 6 Dig by 2x3

************
Summary: Displays looks good. Price looks good. Only disadvantage ( to me) they are RED and there is no 6Dig there so may you not find the same Size/font/color for that Displays finaly!
Good Luck !
