Hello -

I am trying to use retrigger function on a typical bank of Cessna 172 electrical switches (e.g. Beacon, NAV, Avionics, etc.). All just simple ON-OFF switches.
Is there a tutorial or video that will help me to set up the retrigger function?

I tried it using one switch (Beacon) step up with retrigger instead of OFFSETS. When I enable the switch - all switches go to the OFF position and remain there - including the Beacon switch that I am using. When I cycle the Beacon switch - the switch state remains in the OFF position. Can someone help?

Thanks,

John

Lots of details to the Retrigger Feature is explaned HERE..... https://www.mobiflight.com/forum/topic/6846.html
Strange fact..... this topic was written the last two weeks and is number 5 in the list...... Looks like you not use search or simply scroll down 5 topics back!

Whatever.....
THIS should awnser your questions...... If not, or you have additional questions.... Please ask HERE ( and not reopen the linked topic)

Hello

Actually- I did see the posting regarding Retrigger. Unfortunately it does not provide the reader a clear description on how to configure and use the retrigger feature. Very confusing to read. I am being totally honest with you.

Please don’t take this the wrong way. Mobiflight is terrific and you do a great job supporting the product and helping us all.
But it would really help if you could update the online tutorial (missing retrigger) and/or have a video demonstrating on how to configure MF for things like retrigger.

I wish I was as smart as other developers. But I am still learning and need assistance. MF videos have been very helpful.

If this is Sebastian - thank you for creating this program. It is absolutely amazingly.

Very Best Regards

John

Hi again !

1. I´m not Sebastian... my name is Peter! ...... Seb is called here in Forum "DocMoebius"

I´m sorry..... I missunderstand. I thought you need specific info how retrigger works..... And thats explaned in deep details in the other topic.
The basic question HOW you can use it...... Yes. It´s not explaned in case its pretty simple and until now nobody ask for ( so find out themself).
But your right.... It should be a part of a Tutorial.....
Meanwhile most users not read tutorials and ask ( on Discord Server) for those things.... So i not work on that guides at the moment.

Short explaned:
Retrigger must be started by the user.....
You define a Button ( same way like every other momentary Button) You simply assign e.g. a "Button Device" on Pin xx on a Mega.... And you wire a easy Push button to it.
In Mobiflight you create a INPUT Config and use as device THIS Button..... In "Action Typ" you now NOT use EventID, Offset, FS2020 Event or so.... You choose there for RETRIGGER. And all is done.
If now MF is in RUN mode...... And you press that Button..... then MF simply start the Retrigger Sequence !

NOTE: I still make a request to include Retrigger as a "Atomatic Option" in the settings. So expect in the next versions this Feature..... Then no button is needed and you can say MF should simply do Retrigger on very startup !

****************
So..... Sorry for the missing Tutorial. If you have questions. Join our Discord Server..... Get a Headset on and talk to us..... Or contact us "live" in the Chat.
Ask somebody is sometimes better then every tutorial !
Good Luck !

Hi John,

I agree, there's not much [yet] in the way of documentation on the retrigger function. Having said that, it's a fairly straight forward implementation, of which the process is detailed in the other topic referenced by Peter (Pizman).

A couple of questions that might help us get to the bottom of what's happening. Are your switches running though an Arduino Mega or a different device (ie HID, joystick, etc)? The switch that you have assigned to the retrigger event - what type of switch is it, or more important, is it a simple on/off switch? (Apologies, I'm not familiar with Cessna cockpit switches).

In the event that it's a simple on off switch running through a Mega, I presume it is cabled to a working digital pin with one wire, and the other wire goes to ground (which is probably a long way of asking, does the switch nomally work - ie, "switch something" when not used as the retrigger event?
