Hi community, I have a strange issue with MF. I had it previously installed, connected and integrated to Xplane all working properly. Suddenly MF stopped working ... Every time I run the application the hourglass appear for a split second then disappears and nothing happens. I even tried to run as administrator and in "compatibility mode" with still no success. FYI, I am running Win10-64bit.

I subsequently did the following
1. Took a backup of my MCC & MFMC files
2. Deleted the MF folder and binaries
3. Removed all residual entries of MF from the registry except this

(\Device\HarddiskVolume2\Users\John\Downloads\MFConnector.exe)
4. Checked my firewall to verify all is ok and nothing is blocked
5. Installed Notepad++ just to check I could download and install other apps - Worked OK
6. Downloaded again MF installer for v9 - When I double-click the installer, it also has the same problem as the MF app (hourglass then nothing)

I am now unable to totally reinstall MF. Is anyone having similar issues with MF not running and what can I do?

I fixed the problem. It appeared to be an issue with OLE32.DLL which I detected when I tried to run the .NET installer. Somehow this file (and a few others) got corrupted when I was uninstalling some old apps.

To fix the issue DO NOT install affected DLLs from download sites as it may contain viruses. Instead go to the windows cmd and run the following in the system32 directory of windows:

1. run DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
This will run for about an hour and check the system files in your Windows directory for corruptions
2. run sfc /scannow
The scan of corrupted files will trigger a download from the Microsoft store to automatically recover any corrupted files

This worked for me and after this MF could install itself and now runs again
