Hello,

I just purchase a new Mega 2560 board. The problem is MF software does not recognize the board. It detect the board and shows the port number but written as "unknown". But, on the other hand, MF can detect my old board just fine using the same cable. The funny thing is that i can use the new board with Arduino Sketch and write simple code into it as i demonstrate in the video below. Please help me

Hi

Like Always.... Posibility to use a arduino Sketch via IDE is no indice of compabilitiy to MF.
Hard example: You can upload a sketch to a arduino Nano or Due.... But Both will not work with MF.

So..... This only tell us the Board itself is working and the connection is Ok..... Nothing more !
Means.... Nice Test to confirm the Mega is working..... But not related to MF.

************

Solution:

If Boards are not detected then mostly this have 3 Reasons.

1. ( 99% of the time) there is a corrupted EEPROM.
Simply upload with the Arduino IDE the Sketch "EEPROM CLEAR" and run it. Mostly this solve all the Problems.

2. Wrong Cable again.
For example i got 2 different Arduino Megas ( Both Clones.... Each from different Manifactur)
When i use my USB extention cable only one of the two work. .... And Irronic.... This Mega not work on my USB Hub but the former problematic other Mega work fine here.
And finally Both work fine if i connect them direct to the Computer.
In easy words.... If a Mega work on a Cable / Hub / Port this NOT means every Mega work on that point.

3. Wrong Drivers.
If new Mega is a CH340...... Get sure you install that Drivers. It can happen that Arduino IDE use other drivers and is already fine..... But MF not have access to it.
So get sure all Drivers are installed correctly !

4. Blocked Ports.
A Other User report, that Software like SimVim block the System. So check if other Programms run in the backround and be problematic !
Good Luck !
