Hello,
I have spent some time searching and reading through the forums and have found some information but am struggling to piece it all together. I am going to use the same 7 segment display to display both my altitude select and my vertical speed select. The idea is that I have one encoder that I use to increase or decrease the value (that bit is fine). I would also like 2 push buttons 1 to display altitude select and the other to display vertical speed select. I have seen that some people are using the 066c offset but I'm not too sure what to do with that.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Marc

OK so I have read about a million forum posts and have figured out how to use a 7 segment display fro both altitude and V/S select. The only issue I am having now is because the V/S & Alt select share the same display when the V/S displays negative rather than reading -700 it reads 0-700. I think it has something to do with the number of digits. For my altitude I use 5 but only need 4 for my V/S. If I change my V/S to 4 it will no longer swap over. Any ideas?
Thanks
Marc

All sorted now. Was just an issue of using the space function on my display.

Hi

Yes and No !

Contolling 2 Elements on the same Display ( Via Precondition) is no Problem..... BUT there is a Problem if the 2 Systems use a different Numbers of Diggits !

Lets say you have a 5 Diggit Display ......
Funtion 1 use all 5 Diggits xxxxx .... BUT Function 2 use only 4 Diggits e.g. Oxxxx .

Lets say you currently use Function 1 and it show "55555" ...... If you swap to Funtion 2 and it should show currently "1111" then result will be "51111"

Why this happen....
Cause if the Precondition swap ( you press the Button) then the new config start working.
If this Config only have 4 Diggits selected..... then the 5th Diggit (from the prior config) is no longer controlled..... But it still remain the value that was used for it before you swap the configs.

So.... IMPORTANT RULE:
If you use a Display with multiple Configs..... then ALL Configs must include the same number /position of Diggits !
If you just need 4 Diggits use also 5 here and simply use Left/Right Padding to set the unneeded to Blank !

In easy words: A Precondition NOT tell a Device to go OFF..... If Precondition change ( activate another Config) then the Device like a Motor, LED, Dosplay or so REMAIN in the state it was before UNTIL you tell it by another ( or the old config again) to do something new !
Good Luck !
