Hi All,
Just wondering if I can run a small 2 port hub and 2 2560 boards from a single USB source with no additional power cable. These are being used strictly for buttons and encoders input; there are no outputs being used.
Thanks,
John

Hi John,

a normal USB interface, powered by your PC can provide up to 500mA. If you connect 2 Megas via an unpowered Hub, then the 500mA are valid for this two Megas.
But if you use only Buttons, switches and encoders or other devices who do not need current, then you do not need a powered USB hub.
