Hello guys.

I've got a small problem which i couldn't resolve so far.

I've got a single Battery switch in my panel and in PMDG 738, i want to use a combination like this,

- When i hit the switch, Battery should go on and the Bat Cover should get closed (i'm doing that with 2 separate configs for same button actually)
- When i hit the switch again, first Battery Cover should get opened and Battery should go off afterwards (couldn't do this by any means)

Any ideas or suggestions ?

Hi.
The guards are little problematic cause the Switch can´t move before guard is open . ( Would be better if PMDG impliment this feature). So we need a littly cheating here.
Please Confirm you want to use this with a simple Push button NOT with a 2 Position Toggle Switch as in real plane ??

There a lot´s of ways to config this. Question is WHAT you need at last..... Is it for example ok for you if the Guard is still open in the Sim after set the battery switch to 1 ? ( You not see this if you use a Homecockpit and disable the virtual cockpit in the future)

Important to set this is the sequence of config entrys...
The Entry who "Open" the Guard must be in front of the Config who contoll the switch.... ( Cause the switch can only go OFF if guard is open.

A verry easy config is...
1 Config Device youre Button .... EventID EVT_OH_ELEC_BATTERY_GUARD 69634 Parameter 1 /// This will open the guard if its closed)
2. Config Device same Button..... Event ID EVT_OH_ELEC_BATTERY_SWITCH 69634 Parameter 536870912 (Left single) // This toggle the Battery Switch.
With this Config Battery switch toggle 1/0 on every use.... Guard would be opend if close ( Systemstart maby) BUT it would be still open in the Simulator all the time after using.

With a Toggle Switch ON-Off or better a ON-ON you would be able to make a better realistic configuration.
If you like to controll the virtual Guard 100% simmular with the Real Guard you can think about a additional Contact Switch that readout the Position of the Guard in youre Homecockpit and controll the virtual Guard 1:1

BUT Again... I Think the virutal guard is not important for a Homecockpit.... So you just can use this DoubleConfig to make the switch working and ignore the guard itself.
Good Luck !

Hi Pizman,

I'm using a 2 pos. toggle switch just like the real stuff on 738.

I've once set just as you mentioned and it worked well. But when i want to close them both, only the battery switches off and the guard stays open.

In my next project i've designed my Battery switch just as you mentioned -with a cover-

THATS Normal... Aslong the battery Switch is OFF the Guard MUST be open ! this is like in a Real B737 too. Maby you mean different Situation here.... If you got Battery ON then the Guard is still Open.... YES... This is in reason of our used Config, and not like in Real !

************

With a Toggle Switch we got more options.

For understanding.... A Fact of these Guard is, that it move the switch mechanical if it´s in wrong postition.... If you close the Guard in a Real B737 and the Battery switch is still ON nothing happend....
But if the Switch is actual in OFF position and you close the Guard THEN the switch is moved to ON while closing the Guard.

We can Use this fact for our Config.... For the Switch position that set the Battery to On we can use alternate way the command for Closing the Guard .... As i told before when we close the guard the Battary switch always go to ON (1). (So we not controll the switch itself here... We jsut close the Guard by oure input)
But Problem now..... In A Real Plane we can work different way. We can push the Battery Switch to ON but let the Guard Open already !

So you have to make a compromise....
1. The Switch go to ON but the Guard is always Open in the Sim.....
OR
2. The Switch go to ON but the Guard goes always Close after Switching. ( Not Stay Open like in Real B737)

First Config from last Posting was for "Guard always OPEN...... The follow is for Guard ALWAYS Close if Battery is 1 ...
To set these with a On/Off Toggle switch use follow Config.

Config 1 ON Press Event ID 69634 Parameter 0 On Release Event ID 69634 Parameter 1
Config 2 ON Press Event D 69633 Parameter 0 (NOT Use a Release Here )

Think this Config is more what you like !!!

But please i´m interessted...... Tell me why you wan´t to controll the Guard in Virtual Cockpit to close ? If you Build youre homecockpit you willl not use the Virtual Cockpit already. WHY do you want to control a Optical Part that got no function and you can´t see in the future ??
