Hi,

I use an encoder for the altitude with LCD Display. when i turn my encoder to change the ALT value, it works fine in the simulator but the LCD doesn't show the actual ALT value. only when i pull or push the encoder in the simulator, the LCD takes the Altitude value.

Can somebody Help?

Thats a "Thinking issue"

Your Encoder is not combinated with the LCD ..... Both are fully indipended.

Your encoder change "something" in the Sim ( Whatever Offset, Event, Simmconnect stuff or so you use) .
The LCD READ "something" in the Sim and show the Value on your Display ( E.g. a special Offset) .

So the problem is pretty sure..... Your Display read a different value as you expected.
You can simply confirm this by check the FSUIPC Output Vaue Column right of the Config Line in the MFC Window.
RUN Mobiflight and observe this config entry.... There is written the RAW Value of FSUIPC.
If you now change the Altitude (Whatever with your encoder or with the Virtual Knobs) then the virtual Display also change.
BUT
If your Raw value NOT change same way then you simply read the wrong Offset.

Reasons:
Maybe a issue in FSUIPC.... Or a AddOn Question.
For example in P3D the PMDG use it´s own Offsets for AP Alt.... If you try to read the stock Offset it occure in the nearly same situation.... It is not 1:1 only if you click on ALT HOLD.... Then the Addon write the Original Offset, too.

*******
Summary:
If you did no big misstake on a other spot this sound like a "wrong" working Offset.... And maybe there exist already a better one.
Good Luck !

So we can't get a reading out of the MSFS plane AP ALT screen?

For Sure we can.

You can use the new Output tool (Beta Version currently)
OR
You use FSUIPC Offsets (Aslong they exist)

Same way as i explane above..... There exist no "perfect" Data for everything ! Also in the FS2020 Output tool we implement there exist a lot of different "Variables" for the AP Altitude.
In case each Aircraft (specialy AddOns) can use a own system we never have a garantee that a varibale work!
Best way.... Try the most common Variables ( In the Standard section).... For most it will work. If not you need to search if there is a Aircraft Specific Data available.
Technical the same logic like in the Past with FSUIPC..... Just faster and more easy !
Good Luck !
