Hey,

I’ve got a comm 1 radio box I made with an arduino and my 3d printer, it’s got 2x 7 segments displays, a rotary encoder for tuning and a button to switch between active and standby.

I set it up following the tutorial on the side and everything works when I test it however when I go in the simulator I get no feedback to my displays from the cockpit.

I am using the latest beta of FSUIPC and using the fsuipc offsets, I understand there are bugs as this is new to the MSFS sim but is this one of them?

Thanks

You said you TEST it..... Means you confirm the Displays are working ( e.g. show 12345678 if you press the TEST Button in Display Tab ? )

If your Hardware is OK the problem is in the Software.

Without see your Configs i can not see if you did a mistake or if the problem is missing Data from FSUIPC7
Maybe the Offsets have change..... You must check the List that is included in the FSUIPC7 Beta Folder.
( With a shared Screen in Discord we could explore together)

******
Most easy way to test..... If you still got a old FSX/P3D Setup..... Test your panel THERE. If it work fine then you know 100% FS2020 use other Offsets OR the offset are not working in FSUIPC at the moment.
Good Luck !

Hi,

Yes i have tested the displays as working okay in the display tab and I get 123.456 on both displays.

It must be a software issue. Perhaps the offsets aren't compatible with MSFS yet? I used them from the list in the FSUIPC 7 folder but i have a feeling they arent setup yet as the com1 active and standby offsets don't show up in green in the excel file, then again 95% of the list isnt green so im not sure if thats what that means.

I'd be happy to get help via discord so you could have a look at my config if you were willing.

thanks

Hi IrishAviator.
I have a com box just like yours with 2 7-seg displays, 2 rotary encoders and a switch. My com box is working just fine with MS2020. I just had to change a few things with the offsets in FSUIPC to get my swap button to work but after that, all was fine. I will leave pictures with my settings so you can try and see if they work for you.

COM1 Display

COM1 Standby Display

KHZ encoder left rotation

KHZ encoder right rotation

MHZ encoder left rotation

MHZ encoder right rotation

Swap switch

Hopefully it helps

Hi,

the images were very helpful thank you. I just matches ours and they are identical. I have Mobiflight open and i've a green connection in both the arduino and the sim itself. it is also "running" and the aircraft in-game C172 & C152 is started with avionics on however i'm still getting no feedback to my 7 segment displays. I do get 123.456 on them when i use the test function in settings.

any advice?
thanks

I am glad you solved it!

Two observations: In my setups for the input i use the EventIDs - for me that works perfect and you don't have to care about 8.33kHz vs 25kHz. It will work just fine.

Second, there is a FSUIPC Offset that holds the entire frequency. Look it up in the ods file that come with FSUIPC - i dont remember the offset address off the top of my head. But this new offset is needed to display the 8.33kHz freqs correctly.
Have a great day!
Sebastian

0x05C8 4 Hz COM ACTIVE FREQUENCY:2
0x05CC 4 Hz COM STANDBY FREQUENCY:1
0x05D0 4 Hz COM STANDBY FREQUENCY:2

All 4 Byte INT .... Freqeuncy in Hz so a freqeuncy of 123,456 is shown as 123456000
Good Luck !
