Goodmorning! First of all a compliment for the nice product you created

But I have an issue with a 7 segment 8 digit module with max7219 chip. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/619yK4PcLcL._SL1500_.jpg

I tried to connect it to an Arduino UNO as described in the manuals. Then I try to add it to the Arduino via the software. After correctly assign the correct pins I try to upload it but I got, after 20 seconds, an error like "Upload succesful with errors". After restarting the Arduino Uno, the MP software is recognizing the Arduino but showing it "Unknown" with firmware and serial: n/a and from this point I cannot do anything anymore. After doing an "eeprom clear" with the original Arduino software I am able to connect again and start over.

A few other things i tried:

- Connect and configure the module via the original Arduino software and execute a trial script -> Everything works perfectly, so pins and soldering should be ok
- Configure some buttons in MF and test in FSX -> Works perfectly
- Add an button without wiring -> Works great. But after adding the 7 segments, shit hit the fan again :s
- Add an 7 segment without the wiring -> Same problem
- Tried different pins -> Same problem
- Uninstalled the .NET update -> same problem
- Lower version -> Same problem
- Other computer -> Same problem
- Connect with external power -> same problem

I hope you know an solution. Thanks in advance.

Greetings, Lex

Hi

Your Problem is the wrong Controller.....

iconDutchylex:

I tried to connect it to an Arduino UNO as described in the manuals.

Some years ago Sebastian make a trial to implement Mobiflight Firmware for UNO Boards.... But he fail. Some things work Other things ( Like 7 Seg) won´t work.
Also within the time the Firmware increase in memory usage ( like LCD) so it´s no longer useable in UNO as i know.
Whatever he not remove it completly cause some users work with a old Hardware and have e.g. a little Panel with just 4 Buttons and use still a UNO and it work for them.

Summary: UNO is not official supported.... And we can not awnser to help requests related to this. You can use it on own risk but ( like in your example) you must accept those problems.
We HIGH recommend to use Arduino Mega2560 R3 Boards ONLY !!
Good Luck !
