The new update is the worst update ever. The update cannot be installed automatically due to a virus warning. All analog ports from A5 to A15 still do not work. I have not been able to use my cockpit since January 2020. Why does a jump from 7.8.3 to 7.9 have to be made without repairing the bugs from 7.8.2 first. MF is no more fun like that, I have to look for another solution.

I have not been able to use my cockpit since January 2020.

The NET Framework Problem ( in case of the Microsoft Update) was middle of July .... We support a Troubleshoot ( De-install of the Microsoft Update) and a Hotfix for THAT Problem in August.....
That Hotfix (7.8.4) occure in Missing Boards. We support a Troubleshoot again ( klick on HELP/ Search for Updates) and also a Hotfix (7.9.0) the last weekend.

Please tell me WHAT is the Problem you can not use Mobiflight sinse January 2020 ?

The installation is not the big problem, this is allways possible by hand.
In January i expanded my three modules Overhead, MCP and FMC and equipped them with additional functions to use all 16 analog ports of my three Megas. I don't have the option of adding additional Arduinos, so I urgently need the analog ports. These are still not usable, so I have to look for software or write myself that can use all the I/O ports of my Megas. The better solution is, when Sebastian repairs the not working ports A4 to A15, while the ports A0 to A4 are working and not different to the other.

I also hope Sebastian can fix this..... Wondering why its still a Problem. In our meeting he said the Analog Pin Problem is fixed.... As i know he tested at home and confirm it work for him.
So he should doublecheck this again ! Apollogy for that !


Whatever.... As i said in the past THIS is no argument to say your cockpit will not work.
Basicly i understand your situation..... And you not like to set 3 Megas ( one for each existing Mega) to have those 16 Pins more.
BUT
For the last half year you be able to do a improvisional solution..... Why not simply set a additional Mega next to the correct mounted one in your panel.
(Just lay it there.... Not mount it.... not perfectly wire it..... Its just a temporary solution)
Connect the 11-16 Lines ( you plan for the Analog Pins of the main mega) temporary to Pin 2-53 of the other one.
Your Cockpit will work!! .... And at the day AnalogPins work fine you just move this wires back to Mega 1 Analog Pins and change in the specific Configs just the Target Device Name.
This is a workaround of less then 10 Minutes !

Summary: I understand your a little angry about the situation..... But it was your choice to live with that issue for 7 Months. With only 10 Minutes of Work and maybe 25 US$ for 3 Megas you would be able to use your Cockpit all the time !

I do appreciate this free and wonderfull little software with which , I am able to build simple cockpit components to make my flight so much more fun . Yes it does have bugs , and with the help of this community , specially pizman , I learn and correct these issues . That makes it even more interesting . If it works well , we don't really need to update , just keep the old setting and flight . Exception is version 7.8.2 , which have issue with Microsoft recent net updates and force MF to update as well . If wish to utilize the new features then we can update , but keep a backup and expecting there could be issues . Thank you again . I welcome future versions with more improvements .

ich habe heute auf 7.9.0 updatet seitdem findet Mobiflight kein Modul mehr. Ich kann es auch nicht mehr laden oder öffnen. Die 7.9.0 von Hand downloaden wird immer blockiert und ein Virus gemeldet.
Nachdem ich den Deffender ausgeschaltet habe konnte ich das Update von Hand starten. Jetzt kahm die Meldung das Arduino IDE nicht gefunden wurde und dann der Abbruch.

Bitte um Hilfe wie ich das Problem lösen kann.

Zu Sebastians Verteidigung..... Ich war selber dabei, als 7.9.0 getestet wurde.... Auf einen Homecockpit eines Users das sehr komplex ist ( 20+ Megas) Hunderte Schalter und LED Ein volles Cockpit mit Pedestal und Overhead.
Ergebnis.... MF Startet... Alle Boards erkannt.... Keinerlei Fehler.

Natürlich hoffe ich Sebastian erkennt woran es liegt das einige USer Probleme haben ( Ich vermute das es am System selbst liegt das nicht 100% gleich ist.... z.b. ein veralteter Treiber)
Trotzdem wollte ich hiermit mal klarstellen das hier nicht gepfuscht wurde oder aus Faulheit nicht getestet. Mobiflight 7.9.0 lief auf mehreren Testystemen ohne Fehler !


Lösung:

Dein Virus Problem ist bekannt..... Das liegt daran das eine Freeware nicht monatlich hunderte Euros an Microsoft oder McAfee Norton etc zahlen kann, um seine Datei veriffizieren zu lassen. Virenscanner sehen die meisten "Selfextracting Exe" als potentiellen Virus an solange sie nicht auf deren "whitelist" stehen.
Einige User haben ihr Anitivirus etwas lockerer eingestellt..... Andere wie ich verwenden gar keinen Virenschutz. Diese bekommen keine Meldung !
Fakt it aber.... Man kann das schlicht ignorieren. Wenn du Mobiflight "vertraust" und den File original von Sebastians Homepage lädst dann ist es kein Virus und kann "manuell" erlaubt werden indem du auf "trotzdem ausführen" klickst.

Zum allgemeinen Problem:
Ich verstehe grad nicht.... Hast du denn 7.9.0 auf dem System oder nicht ? Du sagst es geht nicht mit der neuen Version aber sagst auch du kannst die neue Version nicht istallieren. Bitte richtigstellen !

noch habe ich 7.8.3 drauf. Wenn ich 7.9.0 installiere, habe den Deffender aus, kommt die Meldung das der Pfad zu Arduino IDE nicht gefunden wurde danach kann ich nur noch abbrechen und die 7.8.3 wird gestartet aber ohne Modul. Die 7.9.0 wird nicht installiert. Ich find auch den Pfad zu der IDE nicht.

Hi nochmal.

Schritt 1: Die 7.9.0 Downloaden von der Homepage ...... https://www.mobiflight.com/tl_files/download/releases/MobiFlightConnector-7.9.0.exe

Schritt 2: Die Alte Version von Mobiflight löschen..... Sprich die Dateien in dem Ordner entfernen.... der Ordner selbst kann erhalten bleiben.
VORSICHT: Falls du deine MCC Dateien oder MFMC Dateien dort gespeichert hast.... Diese NICHT löchen sondern an einen anderen Ort verschieben.

Schritt 3: Die Runtergeladene Datei in den nun leeren Ordner verschieben/kopieren

Schritt 4: Die Exe Datei ausführen ( Empfohlen wie immer "als administrator ausführen" )

Jetzt sollte 7.9.0 installiert sein und es "dürfte" keine Fehlermeldung geben. Falls er wirklich die IDE nicht findet..... Dies ist der Ordner an dem du die Arduino Software installiert hast. Den nötigen Pfad gibst du in Mobiflight bei "/Einstellungen/Mobiflight Module " ein.... Unten in dem Feld.

Eigentlich sollte das nicht nötig sein aber vielleicht hat sich bei dir was verdreht.

Since the .exe is only a self extracting file and not an installer, why not distribute a .zip file? That would eliminate the virus warning issue and the accompanying question marks and measures people have to take to work around it.

For me this is no problem..... Cause i simply decide myselsf if a file is problematic or not. But sure. For the casual user this would be a benefit !

Noch eine seltsame Feststellung, die vielleicht hilft den Fehler zu finden. Wenn an einem Arduino Mega alle Ports belegt und je ein Taster als Input konfiguriert sind, also von Pin 2 bis 69, dann funktioniert auch Port 52 und 53 nicht mehr. Also sind auch zwei Digital Ports zusätzlich zu allen 16 Analog Ports nicht mehr aktiv. Da fehlt mir vollkommen die Logik, wie so etwas entstehen kann. Ich hoffe auf eine Erleuchtung des Entwicklers.

Hast du denn die Limits eingehalten ?

Nach meinen Wissen ( keine Ahnung ob das der letze Stand war) ist das Limit für Inputs bei 50 Pins. Das ist dann natürlich unabhängig von den Analog Pins.
Wo ich nicht sicher bin ist die Kombiation.... Aber in der Theorie sollte ein Encoder 2 Buttons entsprechen. also 40 Buttons + 5 Encoder sind am Ende ebenfalls 50 Buttons und das Limit wäre erreicht !

Sprich wenn du Pin 2-51 mit Inputs ( z.b. Buttons) belegst bist bei 50 ! Dann ist klar das Buttons auf den analog Pins ( und auf den Digitalen 52 und 53) nicht Funktionieren werden.


Du kannst das einfach testen.
Wenn Sebastian alles richtig gemacht hat und du die Devices sagen wir von Pin2 bis Pin 25 löscht..... Dann sollten auch alle Schalter auf den Analog Pins funktionieren ( Nach einen Reset des Arduinos) .

Soll das heissen dass immer noch ein Limit von 50 Inputs besteht. Das darf doch nicht wahr sein, ich brauche hunderte von Inputs und keine Outputs. Wenn das nicht auf 68 Inputs erweitert wird, muss ich sofort auf MF verzichten und eine andere Lösung suchen.
