HI everyone, I am new to this and hoping to start my sim development after viewing a few videos on MobiFlight. I have purchased a Mega 2560 (made in china) version from EBay. After installing the Arduino IDE I was able to upload BLINK sketch which worked. However when I start MobiFlight and head to Extras\MobiFlight Modules to initialize the firmware, it does not detect the card. The path to the Arduino IDE is pointing to my c:\program files (x86)\Arduino where the Arduino IDE software is installed.

Can anyone point in the right direction what am I missing please...

Welcome to Mobiflight

It´s difficult to directly tell you the problem. For a advanced user i would ask questions like "did it work before the last patch" or "do you try another Mega" .
In your case as a totaly beginner with only one Mega Board owned this is not possible.

So you need to do some Testings.... In the follow some ideas that "can" be factors.

1. CH340 Megas.... A lot of China Mega Boars use the CH340 Controller (instead to the original Arduinos) . This is basicly no problem BUT you need the correct Drivers on your Computer. Check this and if needed install them

2. Current Bug in Mobiflight. After a Long time the current version ( that was hotfixed a Microsoft Problem) occure in a bug we need to fix within the next week hopefully.
For some users there boards are not detected.
If you involved of this..... you can find your Board by press the " / HELP / Serach for Updates" Entry..... Then a Popup say your Mobiflight is UpToDate with 7.8.3 After closing this Message MF reset also all Boards and for all other users there Boards are then showed. This must be done on every startup again !
We try to fix this asap !

Basic Note:
I high recommend to install all Mobiflight / Sim related Stuff ( including Arduino IDE) into a non protected folder. so NOT into /programmfielsx86
Best way would be a own HDD/SSD or a Partition like d:/ ..... If not possible then make a Folder in the root like c:/Flightsim Stuff and install all things THERE.
Additional we recommend to Run all Programms ( Include Sim, Mobiflight) as ADMINISTRATOR at all times !
