Hello All!

Is there a "go to" source for these items? I haven't found a single source that carries all display colours or options.

Thanks,

Mike

I not undertand the question. You search for a shop ??

You need a MaxChip ( or a tube to save timo for setup the chip yourself)
If you use a tube i recommend the "green pcb" sort where you can remove the Displays ( instead of solder displays with blue pcb´s)

Finaly you must order Displays of your choice..... Get sure they are Common Cathode.

If i missundertand the quetion please ask more specific !
Good Luck !

Sorry , I think I used some native English terms here !

I'm looking for an on-line shop that sells a wide range of components. Different color displays (red, amber, blue yellow white), 3, 4, 5, 6 digit displays, 8 digit circuit boards, mounting MAX7219 IC's, IC sockets, stand-off's and so on.

Yes I can get a couple of those things from Amazon, a couple from eBay, a couple from Hispanels, - but I'm wondering if there is an online shop where I can buy any possible electronic component.

Another problem I am finding is that Google tailors results based on your location. Your search in Germany will not give the same results as my search in Canada, even though we are looking for the same thing!

Oh Yeah thats right.
In the past i often use Proxiservers to prevent the german gouverment regulations or to use other country stuff ( For example in lots of countrys like the US or Canada i can not watch livestreams or videos e.g. Discovery Channel if my IP is not located in that country)
So your right. Search can change in case of location.

About Question.

The most Professional Cockpitbuilders work with a PCB System. Means nearly all Displays in acockpit ( e.g. a B737) got the same Color, size and font. Only difference is the number of Diggits.
In case it´s a bit difficult to find a 3,4,5,6 Display Block in same Color and size they simply use 1 Digit Displays and mount them on PCB´s. They got PCB´s for every needed combination ( 3,4,5,6) and build as needed.

About Shops
Here in Germany we have 3 bigger Electronic Shops.... Reichelt, Conrad and Polin. They are pretty expensive and you need to pay delivery costs. But you got short transport time and you can in theory order one single 220 Ohm resistor if you just need one.
Normaly we buy our stuff here directly from China ( Via Amazon, ebay, Alibaba or so) Mostly with free shipping and much much more cheaper as in germany. But China takes 3-5 Weeks and mostly package are bigger ( like 100 Resistors in a box or 10 Displays or 5 Megas or so)

For me its no problem to order 10 Parts in 10 Shops. Aslong shipping is free and the price is ok. If you look for a shop who got everything maybe MOUSER is your key.
But i don´t know if they deliver to Canada and how much does it cost !
Good Luck !

Mouser does have a Canadian shop - Thanks! - I have not heard of them before.

I have an Amazon Prime account, but some parts I've tried to get still come from China, and take a stupid amount of time to deliver.

Amazon is good for a laugh too. Yesterday I got 5 capacitors in an A4 size package. I will get another 5 today :D

Yes, I use a proxy server at times.

Thanks again!!

Not sure if you found some place yet but I have had some success with Jameco Electronics. They should have it if you know what you're looking for. I found some pcb mount switches with the lights already in them for cheap. The MAX7219CNG chips were about $8 each though.

I orders a bunch of stuff on 5/31 and it was all delivered on 6/4, so not a bad turnaround time either.
