Hi, I have configured the push button of my rotory encoder to enable "Heading Hold".
For this I am using the Key command "Ctrl + H" to toggle the Heading hold

This works fine, however, I ran into one issue. When I rotate the knob to set a heading and then press the knob to "switch heading hold from off to on", the value of the heading direction gets reset to current heading of the plane.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?
thanks

I think it is a bug. I have had the same problem using different aircrafts including default boeing 737.

Hello,

i am using the PMDG 737 without problems by heading hold. Try it with the Event ID 70024

I tried it with several aircarfts and see the same behavior for speed hold and heading hold.

Fusa,
are you suggesting using event ID as the input type instead of keyboard input?

thanks

I tried the Event ID for speed hold, altitude hold and Heading hold.
Worked well for Heading - meaning it retained the value i had set by turning the heading knob

However, for speed and altitude, it reset the value to the current values of the plane
Is this how its meant to work?

Dear Guys

I would say.... This isn´t a Bug.... It´s a feature !

I can´t remember how this work in the Real Simulator of Lufthansa i was some times ago...... And i only fly boeing so i don´t know the Airbus or Cessna procedures.....
Basicly i think we have to TWO difference Systems !
One function tells the Autopilot to HOLD the current Situation ( Actual speed or course or Altitude) the other one tell the AP he should get to the manual set values in the MCP.
In PMDG 737 for example we got these function normaly on Altitude.... You can turn whatever you want in the MCP... If you push the ALT HLD Button the Aircraft HOLD the current level or make a LevelOff. Only by pushing " Alt Int" or VNAV for example the MCP Set Altitude will be automaticly reached.

I try out and see there are different Event ID´s ..... The Standard key Commands ( STRG + Z,R,H ) are all set the AP_xxx_HOLD Event id´s 65726, 65859 and 65725
These standard Id´s tell the Aircraft it should Hold the current value ! After we activate it we can change the value on MCP but a further change will be overwritten by current value !

In other way The Mouse Button Push in the Standard Planes result in a different Event ID.... This are the AP_PANEL_xxx_HOLD Id´s (65799,65891,65798 )
These Id´s directly say to the AP "Control the Heading, Speed or Alt and go to the choosen value in MCP."

So in PMDG we can use the special Event Id´s.
For normal planes (or other Addons without own range) we can choose between this 2 Systems... witchever we need or want !

Look Up... With FSX Intern KeyBind looks like only the "Hold current Situation" id´s can be set. Use EventID commands and not Key´s to solve this

Hope this helps !
Good Luck !
