Hi loowecee!

Welcome to MobiFlight!

No, an Arduino DUE ist not supportet by MobiFlight. You should only use the Arduino MEGA 2560 R3 or a clone of it.

Hi loowecee,

that depends on some factors.

- where did you install MF? Drive c:\ or another one? Do not Install MF on c:\!
- did you install MF as administrator? If not, reinstall it
- did you install the Arduino IDE? If not, please do so. You can download it from https://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Windows
- is your Windows up to date?
- are the .NET Applications installed?

What happens now with MF? Does it run?

Please drop here a note.
Grüße,
Stephan (Time: UTC+2)

Is there any particular reason we shouldn't install MF on the C drive?

Yes and No.

You can basicly install MF on "C:" but its high recommend to NOT use Windows Protected folders..... Like "c:/programmfielsx86"
All folders with "write permission" are problematic.
Whatever.... You can also install it there but then you must get sure to run Mobiflight always in ADMIN Mode to have the needed Writing rights.

Summary....
MF on C:/ is no problem when you know what you do....... In Case every other HDD or Partition not have this problems the most easy way is simply to install it not on C:/ Then you not need to think about that stuff...... And thats what Stephan simply means B)
Good Luck !
