Hi guys...

I just started to use MF and going through my first steps, I tried the first tutorial (parking bake), all good, test runs fine, I place the connector to run and no reaction to FSX... setting Parking brake ON/OFF and no led is turning on.
Modules and FSUIPC all with green check marks.
Check mark on Active.
"Running" showing on the right bottom.
I made FSUIPC to show status of 0x0BC8, which changes from 0x0 to 0xFFFFFFFF when i'm flipping the parking brake on-off
Board is an Arduino Mega 2560 clone...

Any hint in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Gabe

Hi Gabe !

Your information are a bit poor and confusing !

You say "I tried the first tutorial (parking bake), all good, test runs fine," BUT then you say it wont work.
So WHAT is running fine and what do you mean with "test" ??

You say "I place the connector to run and no reaction to FSX..."
Thats logical... if you not push a button then no reaction can happen in FSX.... Only when you make a Input then a command is executed.

You say "setting Parking brake ON/OFF and no led is turning on."
Do you set the brake with a Real switch via Mobiflight or do you set the virtual function (for example with mouse) Is the Parking Barke ON/SET in Simulator ??

You say "I made FSUIPC to show status of 0x0BC8, which changes from 0x0 to 0xFFFFFFFF when i'm flipping the parking brake on-off"
Again... Does it change when you push your Mobiflight Button/switch or does it change when you use the virtual Brake Switch or maby the "." Point Shortkey ??

*****
Basicly:
- You must check if your switch is working.... Enable Logging Mode (In settings tab) And check the Logging String in the lower part of Mobiflight Window.
If you push your Button then there must be a notification that a Button Press ( Or a release when you release it ) shown there... Also there is a information witch config is executed in that case !
If this is working and no Input is executed in FSX then your INPUT Config is simply wrong !

- For the LED you have to check if it work basicly ( Use TEST Button) If LED Blink up then its correct set.
If also the Offset in FSUIPC Logging is working correct ( You say it change in case of brake status) THEN The Mobiflight LED MUST work correct.
If NOT then your Output Config is simply wrong !

Summary.... Check your Hardware....Try again .... If no success please awnser my questions from above.
Good Luck !

Hi,

Thanks Pizman84!!

Gremlins got to work last night... I have no other explanation.

I was determined to collect the Debug info for you, but when I turned everything on, everything worked fine. I wouldn't be as surprised, If I didn't try at least 100 times changing this and that, re-loading, re-saving, re-starting... I'm sorry for spinning your wheels in vane....

But, just to answer your questions...

Yes, checking the hardware with the test button in the ConfigWizard the led turns on (off when stop) as it is expected. I guess this rules out a cabling issue.

There is no push button input setup in the Mobiflight side (yet).

The Status of 0x0BC8 changes (on FSX screen) when I virtually switch the parking brake with "." and "Ctrl+." in FSX.

Interestingly the FSUIPC values and Output values remained blank in the Output mapping screen all the time, even when Running and Active.

Now it is all history.... sorry again  .

Thanks
Gabe

This can be lots of reasons.... But gremlins are pretty shure not the problem ( only if you feed them after 12 o clock :P )

For next time.... Chaning of Output Configs while running can occure in a missing data transmiting from FSX.... Also a full Com Lost of FSUIPC can happen, too.
First Aid....
1 .Save Config.... Close Mobiflight and restart the connector,
if this not helps....
2. Restart simulator also. ( to resync FSUIPC)
if this also not help....
3. Reset Arduino ( Resetting Arduino by Button on Board or by removing USB wire and reconnect it after some seconds IMPORTANT NOTE.... Mobiflight must be restarted, too after you disconnect/reconnect a Arduino !

If nothing helps finaly.... Talk to Gizmo the Mogwai and ask him for help :w00t:
Good Luck !
