Hello

I will start to build my 737 home cockpit with the mcp. I will need 17 led and 6 display. Is one mega will be sufficient or i need two or more to give enough power.
or in an other way how many led can i connect to one mega

Hello,

in total you can connect up to 40 LED with max 20mA each. The experience shows, however, if you take high brightness LEDs, that they only with about 8-12 mA must be operated, so they are not too bright.

This looks different with the displays. These are multiplexed at a frequency of approx. 800 Hz. Only one 7-segment digit is active at a time. Due to the high frequency then also flows less power than in a permanent control. 17 LED and 6 displays should not overload a MEGA if you only need one. If you use 2, you can distribute the LED load to both. This is useful, if you also intend to build an EFIS.
