I have set up my encoder for my pmdg 737 and when I turn the knob it does not change until I turn it 4 times. Is there a way I can set it up to every click is a click in the game.
Thanks

Pretty shure this happens not only in PMDG.... This is in all aircrafts !

You use the "wrong" Encoder....

Encoders have a "Signal per detent" resolution. ... For Example 1:1 ... 1:2 ... 1:4 and so on.
Mobiflight is based on 1:1 Encoders.... Yours is a 1:4 Encoder... That means Mobiflight only "see" every 4.th step, !
At the moment Sebastian is planning for a external tool to set by users what encoder they use.... But this tool is not final and in Beta Testing!

Solution:

A) Use Encoders with a 1:1 System instead your 1:4 .....
OR
B ) Wait for the tool... ( Can´t tell you if it takes weeks, months or longer).... then you can fix this problem internal !
Good Luck !

happy1911,

Alan Glenn, an external developer, has done the work to support a variety of encoders on the MobiFlight Modules page. For example:

He submitted a Pull Request for the MobiFlight open source BitBucket page on Sep 5th 2017. As far as I can tell the work has not been merged into an alpha/beta version because there are no branches in BitBucket.

https://bitbucket.org/mobiflight/mobiflightfc/pull-requests/5/add-support-for-rotary-encoders-with/diff

If you are having big problems I have the ability to merge in the work and build my own debug version of MobiFlight - I have had 1:4 problems with encoders also.

cheers

i can´t help you with a system i not own....
THIS is not part of Mobiflight release version..... this is a self build implement tool of a user.
If you have questions you must request adressed to the guy that programmed this tool.

Please don´t missunderstand!... I´m glad and happy that some people start programmming and make Mobiflight better ( Cause sebastian can not do all himself)
BUT: It´s difficult if you share that versions to other users..... Forum support can only be working if we have ONE Release version !
Good Luck !

I am REALLY loving Mobiflight and the possibilities it allows..... So far (after 2 days...) I can get rocker switches working LED's and switches in SIM, I can get 7 segment displays working in Sim and mirrored on displays, I can get my encoder working to raise and lower values for HDG, Altitude etc..... Its GREAT!!!

I have 1 major issue and that's the actual encoder I have. It appears to be a 3-pin 1:4 encoder. Leobodnar page states it can be 1:1 using config software but I cant find it....

I have looked over the GitHub page of the mobiflight that would allow the 1:1 use of my encoder but cant for the life of me figure out how to compile or use this software...
Can someone either compile it for me, or point me towards a good proper 1:1 encoder. I have looked but never found....

Thanks in advance.....

Hi Shand,

the Bodnar-Software works only for the Bodnar-Products. If you have a BBI32 you can use the Encoder Configuration Software which can be found her:

http://www.leobodnar.com/products/BBI-32/BBI-32%20Config%20-%20Ver%201.9.exe

The BBI32 will not work with MobiFlight but you can work with with FSUIPC directly.

Soon there will be a version of MobiFlight that is able to install 2:1 or 4:1 Encoders as 1:1 Encoders.

Paul_max, would you be willing/able to help me with this. I only have the 1 4:1 encoder and I use it for testing purposes... Is there any way I could obtain a copy of this "adapted" MobiConnector while I wait for my new encoders to arrive....?
