Hello friends:

I have a radio panel project with two arduino cards.

I just went through the third time, that on one of the cards (always the same arduino card) I changed the serial number, without having made any changes in the configuration.

That is, today when starting again Mobiflight tells me that there is a card that is not located and asks me for orphan inputs if I want them to be assigned to one of the two cards he shows me.

The name of the card is maintained (it is the same name always) but the serial number does not. Each time it has generated a new serial, with the same name.

It has already happened to me three times, always with the same card.

What could be happening and how do I solve it so that the serial number is not changing?

If I change the arduino card for a new one, can I transfer the configuration without entering all the data manually?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

We talk about this some weeks ago.... But i not find the topic at the moment. Not shure if YOU request this already or it that was a other user !

Basicly in not understand... What is the Reason for new serial Number..... Does the System do that itself without you like this OR do you manualy push the "generate new Serial" Button youreself ? If Yes.... Why do you generate it new all the time ??

About the orphans.....

If your Configuration file (.mcc) you use for the project got lines that located to a Arduino (Mobiflightboard) That is NOT currently Set in the System THEN this Error Warning is present.
Mobiflight will tell you " Hey.... Theres One or more Config Lines that need "Arduino XY" but i can“t see it on USB Ports.

With the Dropdown below this Warning you now can choose a Arduino that is active at the moment (You see a list there with all connected Mobiflightboards) and you can tell Mobiflight "Please use THIS Arduino that i choose here and from now this should be the Board used instead of the missing board you tell me"

NOTE: After you do that Mobiflight "change" the Code in mcc file and adress als Configlines from OLD to NEW Arduino. But thats only temporary
You MUST Save the file after doing that.... Without saving the OLD Adresses to the missing Board are still present if you load the file again !

******
Summary....
Normaly the Board should not change Serial and normaly the board should be detected without problems. You not need to change Serial youreself !
If THIS is not working correct we need to find the problem !

If If you like to Copy devices of a Board to another you can simply SAVE the Devices into a file ( .mfmc file) Go in the /settings/Devices tab and use the SAVE Button.
After that you can set a new board.... Upload Firmware and then you "load" in the Device Menu simply this file and UPLOAD it to the new board.
So you not need to make all the devices manualy again.
Good Luck !

Hello Pizman82:

I do not know what the reason is.
I have not generated a new number.
I just turned off the pc yesterday, and when I started today mobiflight, the system changed my serial number again.
The first two times this happened to me, I thought that something special had happened, without knowing what it was, but this third time, no. Turn off yesterday and everything normal, and today it was changed alone.

Regards

Hi,

I have had this problem today - I loaded MF and was told I had orphans from a card that had been loaded into MF and noticed the card serial number had changed.

Like the other person I had not done anything to change the serial - I did move the Mega cards to another USB hub due to ongoing LED Module display problems so not sure if this caused it. This also follows a lot of problems with the card not being found by MF and had to keep plugging/unplugging the card to get it seen by MF.

Any ideas what causes the serial number change?
