Hello Everyone

I'm having a great time using Mobiflight and messing about with some hardware but my understanding of Offsets, Lvars etc is pretty much zero. I was trying to get a servo to move based on Main Bus Voltage Offset 2840 but I had no luck at all. I have gotten the flaps gauge to function but the tutorial pretty much spelled that one out for me. If someone has the time I would appreciate even a nudge in the right direction regarding where I might look and what data I might need to make this work.

Cheers
Shawn

Well I had some success this morning. I wasn't setting the offset up as a float, my misunderstanding of what a "double" was. I managed to get the servo to turn with the main bus voltage but will have to fine tune it a bit.

Cheers

Hi Shawn,

Maybe you should not start with the difficult stuff at MobiFlight. First, you should look at the list of offsets (root of FSX \ modules \ Documents \). Then the list of EventIDs that exist once for the standard machines and partly for the add ons (like PMDG).

Then you need to know and understand the difference between offsets (FSX output) and EventIDs (inputs to the FSX) before you start.

Once you have successfully completed AND understood the examples from the Parking Brake Tutorial (switch and LED), you can slowly get started on the realization of your project.

I think it's important to gain a lot of experience here. Of course you can ask here in the forum your questions that will surely be answered.

It is clear to me that anyone who starts with MobiFlight immediately has a concrete example for the implementation, but even at MF it is not without a certain learning effect. Jumping in somewhere is doomed to failure. On a broad basis it is easier to learn and accumulate knowledge.

The terms bit and byte, integer, double etc should be known in their meaning (Aunt Google sends regards;)).

I wish you every success in the realization of your project.
Grüße,
Stephan (Time: UTC+2)
