Hi all

My project is going very great and since the bought of the 3D printer is going all over my expectations :)

I have seen that you are now supoporting LCD displays. Some question:

1 - What types of LCD can I work with?

2 - Do have some tip on how I can name the components based on the config in mobifligth and present it into a lcd or something simliar?

Best Fredrik

Does someone use Arduino compatible board from China and if so how the board works?

I have found this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/MEGA-2560-R3-ATMEGA16U2-ATMEGA2560-16AU-Board-For-Arduino-USB-Cable/122564016466?hash=item1c89627952:g:lwIAAOSwbopZTqA3

Mean if it is worth the time to wait for it and if I can expect the same great board if I would buy the original ones? :)

I also use the chinese MEGA clones.

So far I have not had any failures. Sometimes you find local dealers for the chinese clones with short delivery times but even if it should be a bit more expensive, you do not have to wait that long.

UNO has been experimental and the experiment is stopped. So only the MEGA (or clone) is recommend for MF.

Mega Kit was removed from e-bay, I got a message from ebay saying that the user is no longer registered on ebay and the item was removed. The Uno kit has been shipped according to e-bay. Just wanted to let you know in case someone wanted to order these kits.

Hi Fredrik.

The LCD Display is basicly just like a "screen" that show information..... Same like a Max7219 Display..... Only that the LCD can Show more then Numbers 0-9 it can show ABCDEFG and so on.

So your question is already solved..... The Display Show EVERYTHING you tell him. So it can show Every Value of every System in Aircraft !

If you like for example to show the Position/Status of Landing Light switch then you need the follow....
1. You need to READ OUT the Raw Data..... You need the Offset where the Switch Position ( or the current Status of the Lights) is supported.
2. You create a LCD OUTPUT Config like you already know with the COM1 Frequence Technic.
But now you use for Placeholer not the Com1 READOUT Config.... You now choose the "Landing Light Config" you create in Step1.

Your Display Field looks like.... Lights: ?
Problem now is.... the "?" Placeholder will show now the "value" of the Offset ( Mostly 1 for ON or 0 for off )
BUT here the compare tab of mobiflight will be helpfull..... You can Compare a "Word" instead of a Number, too.

Open the READOUT Config of Landing Light Switch and get to Compare.... Enable Compare !
(If Valuie is for example 1 for ON and 0 for Off then...)
Say IF Value = 1 THEN "ON" ( Simply write ON in the Then field) ELSE "OFF" ( Simply write OFF in the Else field)
Now the Value of your Config is not longer 1 or 0.... Its ON or OFF now.

Finaly in LCD Config you need to enlarge the placehodler are to 3 Diggits.... Like Lights: ???
And now the ??? is shown on display ON or OFF whatever status is at the moment.
Good Luck !

Hi Frederik,

it looks like your I2C interface does not have the solder pads that allow readdressing.
If you find a source that only offers the interface that enables redirecting, then you can exchange it.

Otherwise, I recommend to buy from the following dealers. Here are the solder pads for redirecting:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/20x4-LCD-2004-Character-Display-IIC-I2C-TWI-SPI-Serial-interface-Board-Module/201932533595?epid=903120757&hash=item2f041def5b:g:VLsAAOSwK6RZIn4C

or
