Hi again, folks:

Once you were so kind resolving my last question, here I am back with another one:

Is ti possible to use addressable leds with MF?
I'd like to reduce the number of wires between my Arduino board and my home made overhead and I believe a strip of addressable leds would be very usefull.

If it is possible, how to proceed? If not, is it be considered on a future version?

Thank you.

Hi Decio,

that what you want is an adressable diode matrix, right?

That is not possible and so far as I know it won't be possible in future.

Same question....What do you mean with ....
icondecioapn:

and I believe a strip of addressable leds would be very usefull.

Please link me a datasheed or a picture of that !

Basicly like stephan said.... If you mean a Shiftregister based Matrix System.... thats not possible now.

Maby in wide future this will come but as i know this is not on ToDo List at the moment
Good Luck !

Hi Stephan and Pizman:

I believe this is what you asked for:

https://www.adafruit.com/product/306

https://cdn-shop.adafruit.com/datasheets/lpd8806+english.pdf

The strip can be cutted and leds can be connected sequentialy. You may activate as many leds you want individually using just 4 wires (both of them are just power).

Thank you!

I just overfly that stuff...

Basicly... I´m pretty shure this not will be implemant in Mobyflight any time.
IF Sebastian will add a shift Register System to set multible In/Outputs on only 2-3 Pins THEN he will use a own System that work for all stuff.... Not a PVM based System that only work with THIS special LED Strip!

Finaly.....
I not see the benefit of this.... Yes you need just 2 Pins ( 4 with power) But then you need a 4 line Wire from LED to LED... you have to cut the Strip by hand. Much more wire work like current system with 1 line for each LED.
I would say there exist no Homecockpit that work with a LED Strip like this for anounciators.
A Setup with single standard LED is cheaper.... much more easy to build ... Need no difficult code ( processor work) and so every LED is indipended !

BUT... I like to learn more all the time.... Try to convince me.... Tell me how you plan to use it. Maby i´m wrong and your idea is better as it sounds !
Good Luck !
