Hello,
nice job there! The whole project is amazing... but - please, consider using Ethernet shield as an option for those of us who hate having USB in a simpit. After using lot of USB devices in previous projects, this bus is a no-go for me. USB is just fine for mouse, keyboard or mobile phone, but not for building a full-size cockpit. Not talking about Arduino USB which is just emulating the COM port - 1980s protocol Check out this guy: arduino.svglobe.com and just do it like he did - using either USB or Ethernet, whichever the user likes more. That would be just awesome B) B) B) B) B)

Have u tried the Pokeys 56 eth card? I tried it with fs Symphony.. but i wasnt satisfied with that software. I like the simplicity of the Mobiflight much more.

But i agree.. imagine support for a eth or wifi shield on Mobiflight :) less usb..

Wifi support would actually really be nice.
Have a great day!

Is Ethernet support still being considered?

As far as I know there is not ethernet support in the pipeline.
MobiFlight is dependent on FSUIPC and as long as both are on the same pc, it does not require ethernet.

Is that absolutely necessary?

I think this is a matter of effort and utility.

The current computer (64 bit architecture,> 3 GHz) with corresponding storage space (> 8 GB RAM) with hard drives in the TB range are sufficient for the FSX (32 bit architecture) and the associated Addons always to a clean view of the scenes and Smoothly represent aircraft details with sufficient frame rate.

I do not have to be able to recognize every branch on trees and shrubs, not every problem in the roadway etc.

On the other hand, I would now like to break any discussion in this regard from the fence.

It is the question of how many of the users would really need this feature. Is it a must-have or a nice-to-have?

Of course, the question is then allowed, but then also counter-questions must be allowed. There is no egg-laying Wollmilksow ;)
