Good evening all,
I'm working on a overhead panel of B737 pmdg based.
Trying to figure how to simulate annunciators lights like xfeed or spar valve which have different brightness for valve in transit and valve open or closed,
Any suggestion?
Thx

HI
Problematic Function i think.....

In Real Aircrafts this 2 Birghtness Levels show the "transition" of a valve for example...
Close means NO Light.... Open Means Bright Light..... Transition between Open-Close or Close-Open is shown as dimmed low bright light!

Problem is.... PMDG not support this via Offsets.... It´s still simulated in the Virtual Cockpit.... But not via th SDK Output.

I don´t know exactly but i think PMDG not simulate a real "opening" of the valve.... It uses a simple timer like....
IF Valve is 1 or 0 and there is a Change THEn use 4 Seconds Low Brightness and then 1= Bright or 0 is Off.

Solution....
I think it´s not possible to rewd this out of PMDG ( Maby high professional AddOns like Prosim or Magenta support this 100%)

Improvisional solution.... If you can scripting you can write a own code with a timer like explaned above....
Summary.... Thats not a issue of Mobiflight..... Thats a problem of PMDG. But with the basic tools of Mobiflight you can not make this work.... You need own code !
Good Luck !

Thanks pizman .... sorry for the "rookie" questions but how do I actually make the led light giving out a lower intensity output?
There is an offset related to the switch itself ..I was thinking on hooking a second led and have this lighting up for 3 or 4 second any time the switch change position to achieve the effect of high intensity( 2 leds on) and low intensity (1 led on)... is there a better way u can suggest? Thanks much

Hi again....
You not need to say "sorry"..... This Question is interesting..... i think 95% of users not simulate that... So this is "new world"

I would say reducing of LED Power is not the key.... Its basicly not possible or difficult with Mobiflight ( not shure)
Maby we can work with a relais and a ressistor.... But even to much difficult.

Your on the right way.... But i would recommend the "inverted" technic....

if you use 2 LED for Bright and 1 for Dimmed then you got a Problem..... Then in ON Status this announciator is much brighter ( 2 LED) like every other Element in the Overhead.... So you need to set 2 LED in ALL elements ( Whatever they only get 1 Bright status and no dimmed) to get same conditions.

I Would think about a 2 LED System, too.... But with a Standard LED (Bright like you use in all other elements) and a Low Current LED that is darker.....
Then you need a Programm Logic ( Or a perfect Data Output like in Professional AddOns) to manage this.....
In Dimmed Status only LED2 ( Darker) is ON.... In Bright Status only LED1 (Standard) is ON.
SO you got same optic in Bright Status like in all other Announciators.

******
For Software Side......
Again i think this is difficult and 100% need own scripting....
If you like to do this i would recommend to observe the PMDG Offset...... You need to know this logic FIRST !
Then you can think about a simple script that run in endless loop via LUA in Backround..... THIS Script export data to TWO new offsets.... 1 For StandardLED and 1 for Dimmed LED....... Finaly you make 2 Configs in Mobiflight and set the 2 LED to this "selfmade" Offsets.

I´m sorry my LUA sklills not enough for that.... I Can tell you the complete logic.... But you need to know the Syntax to write the script !
Good Luck !

Pizman,
Thanks for your answer... thou as you correctly said on your previous message the bright indication in Boeing represent either the transition of a valve or the disagreement between the Vale position and the selected position... in other word if I add a second led light it would turn on just temporarily during the transition phase(don't think pmdg simulate a stuck valve ) and then it reverts either to dimmed or to off .... I will try to run some test and I will get back to you ...
Once again thanks much for your input ...
