We all love MobiFlight and the guys behind it - many thanks.

After several weeks' experience and noting that many problems on the Forum are solved quite easily I am prompted to suggest that a 'Tips and Tricks' be added as a sticky.

I only have a few simple ones to offer:

1) Install and add devices one at a time and test before adding the next one.
2) If a device fails to work, replace and find one that works and also use it to configure other setups as well.
3) If a test fails, remove the wiring from the Arduino and remove the device from MF and remove the related configurations. Re-wire in different sockets, re-install and re-configure the device.
4) If an 'Upload finished with error' occurs, reset the Arduino and retry.
5) A flashing TX LED does not necessarily mean that the signal has been accepted by MF; check the log.
6) Save the configuration file, with an updated numerical suffix, regularly.
7) In between changes in configuration settings, stop MF and reset the Arduino. I prefer to exit MF and reboot the PC frequently so I know no unwanted settings are left somewhere in memory.
8) Click on column headings to sort listings. For example: click on FSUIPC Offset to check that custom offsets are, say, identical and not in error or are different where necessary.
9) Run your sim and create an autopilot flight with suitable settings so that MF configuration changes and controls can be tested immediately. The sim should pause each time MF is accessed for further tweaking. Stop MF running before making configuration changes then reset the Arduino before continuing testing.

I'm sure that there are many other useful tips that can be added to this list which could be started by someone more competent than I..
