Hello guys

when i open mobiflight today, all my inputs was deleted. I don't know what happened.
when i want to open my backup file, i have this message : YOUR CONFIG COULD NOT BE LOADED. PLEASE CHECK YOUR SYNTAX ERRORS. and when i press OK, nothing happen.
I am worry about that. i am afraid loosing several mouths work.

That is NOT good !

This is reported rare.
Normaly this can happen VERRY unusualy if you got a system Crash or if you make a complete Wrong Setting and SAVE it .... So Mobiflight "kill" your mcc file !
In Most cases it is possible to reload the file with mobiflight and find out the problem and solve it.... Then you Resave it again and everything is fine.

if you not be able to open the File again then the Issue is Deep in the File..... The Only way to solve now is opening the File with a Text Editor ( Like Notepad++) and checking the script. You have to remove the issue part manualy and save the File with the editor.... THEN Without the Error you can load it again with Mobiflight !


Whats confusing me....
You say you load your "BackUp".... do you mean you backup the file in a different folder or do you mean you load the file you already used all the time ?
The current used File is the file that would be killed..... THIS is not a Backup ! A REAL Backup ( For example on USB Stick) can not involved !
If you realy use a BackUp, then This normaly can not have an Syntax Error if it worked already in the past !
I High recommend to Backup your Main Mcc files ALLWAYS before you change or Add Configs !. So you can simply jump back to the running system if something is wrong !

I usually do what you said. I mean that i have 2 mcc files. The first one wich is the original, when i finish work i save everything in a backup file wich is the second one.

Yesterday everything was working great and i aded some inputs and outputs for my aft ovrhd (Just some leds and switches).
Today when i open the original file, all the input disapear. Then i open the backup file and i get the message i told you.

I will try to delete all my aft overhead's input and output using the notepad to see what will happen.

Hi Kamal,

I got the same message a few days ago. The problem could be solved with the assist of pizman. I deleted all configs except one and then loaded the file again. Without error. The second config copied, reloaded, error-free. And so on.
So I found the errors. It would have me with empty configs, which I have set up, not to forget them. There was the mistake. After I had deleted this, ran the file again error-free.
Maybe the problem is similar to you stored.

No.

There can be a issue in the Config.... But i never note that a complete Part of a config ( Like all Inputs) are lost !
Normaly like Stephan said Everything is alreday existing and Ok.... Only a small issue like a wrong Transform... a Empty config or maby only a wrong Symbol like "\" instead of "/" occures in the crash...... i Never heard about missing code parts !

Silly Question..... Can the Issue occure by a misstake of youreself ? Do you for example test something in a new file ( click NEW in Menu) and after then you make a issue and klick to SAVE AS and rewrite your orignal file where the inputs was set ??

Additional the Question again.... WHY does your BackUp File not work ? If it is a Bug-Free Version of a running system then it MUST work..... Do you maby Rewrite your Backup with a still demaged Main File while you do the new settings ?

I´m sorry i cant help you without see your config..... or without know what you do step by step thet occures in the problem.
I recoomend to check the BACKUP File with Notepad, too. Maby you see parallels, whats going wrong !

sorry i forgott to say..... Normaly 90% of people that working with scripts, know and use this programm.

Alternate you can use the windows text "Editor" .... But Notepad++ is much mor comfortable.
There Commands are mostly in different color and you see the Layers of the Programm more detailed... So it´s easy to see where for example a single config ais begin and end.

For all Cockpitbuilders i high recommend to use it.... You will need it every day !

Please use Search Engine or discover the older topics... we talk about Transponder multiple times already !
(And please in future open a new topic if question is different to topic title)

In Short Words..... It Should be possible with a single Encoder ( Without Button) but thats a VERRY bad solution.
To Switch i.e. from 3456 to 7700 you have to turn the encoder hundrets of times :-)

Normaly Logic is to have 4 Encoders ( or 8 Buttons) to set every Diggit single.

If you like you can use a improvisional Solution with ONE Encoder that have a Push Button..... With the Encoder you Increase/Decrease ONE Diggit.... With the Button you toggle between the 4 Diggit.
Maby THIS is good for you ?
