Trying to build a standalone DME radio with knobs. And looking for the offset to show the DME freq.
Looked thru the offset pdf and couldnt find it. Anyone knows?
you should read the FSUIPC Offset Status.pdf Document carefully.
DME is not a frequency, but a display that indicates the distance to the navigation aid, the time to go there with the displayed speed. These possibilities are available for NAV1 and NAV2.
So you have to look within the Document for DME (CTRL-F).
Start to learn the offsets at 0x0300.
Im not ref to Nav 1 or 2. Ref to a standalone DME unit with its own freq knob to tune in a dme freq. And thats not the nav 1 or nav 2 freq. Its a standalone knob for that equipment. Thats the offset im looking for
You have a NAV1-Unit and a NAV2-Unit, each with an own frequency. Each NAV is assigned its own DME.
NAV and DME work together. You can not change a Frequency from a DME. You can only change the NAV frequency and affect the DME. The DME is dependent on the NAV. A single DME without NAV is impossible and makes no sense.
An Example: You have tuned Frequence 115.20 MHz into your NAV1. If your NAV1 receive the VOR on this Frequency then the DME shows you the Distance to this VOR, for example 50 NM. If you are in the Air with your plane the DME shows you also the speed of your Aircraft and the Time you will need to reach the VOR with this Speed.
NAV and DME are two separate Devices but they are connected together so that the DME can show its Data received from the NAV. A stand alone DME makes absolutely no sense, because it has no receiver for NAV-Frequencies. So what do you want to display with a DME without any reference?
So it is not surprising that there is no knob for any DME alone. Tune a NAV Frequency and you can get the desired DME data.
Try this with an airplane of your choice and tune a valid and receivable VOR Frequency an look to the DME to the coresponding DME. Then change the NAV Frequency to another VOR and you will see other datas on your DME.
Read the description to your linked device:
Both the KN 62A and KN 64 can be channeled remotely through almost any NAV receiver or tuned directly with their own frequency selection knobs. They even have dual channeling capability, making two DME frequencies available to you at all times
Both devices have their own NAV-receivers.
The main thing is that this unit is neither in the Standard-aircrafts of the FSX nor in the addons. So there doesn't exist any offset for this unit. If this unit in an aircraft exists you have to ask the manufacturer for his used offsets. With the standards we do not go further here.
It is the same as if you would switch to a car the 6th gear although the transmission has only 5 gears.
Made a video so you see what i mean.
U can pick up dme freq with the dme radio independent of the navs. So all im after is the offset to map that knob on the dme radio unit
see here

(also i have changed arduino to another mega card, how can i get rid of that message that u see in the video after i have showed the dme freq.?)
AGAIN:
Please awnser our Question in the other Topic !!! https://www.mobiflight.com/forum/topic/801.html?page=2
Since i ask you this Stephan and me help you in 5 different topics with your problems. I Think it will be nice if you can help us, too.
By the way... Myself i NOT need the ADF Standby BUT i still contact (for you) Pete Dowson from FSUIPC.
So if we do all the work for you (without need this realy for ourself) then simply post a awnser if we ask you something !
Thanks !

To the Topic.
Thats a nice tool. I Not work with it before but it´s usefull ( If its realy working correct) .
Stephan already said....
FSX NOT Support this. In FSX DME (1+2) are set via the active NAV1/NAV2 . So i´m pretty shure there is NO Offset to readout this.
WHAT AddOn do you use.... Is this instrument a Part of a AddOn Aircraft or a Standaloan??? ....
Basicly you have to check the Offset List ( Or SIOC Variables) of THIS AddON to get the Data.... Contact the Support of the AddOn !
