I have a Arduino Mega and i'm running FSX SE with full version FSUIPC version 4.938c. I have green check marks on Mobiflight, and the debug log is showing my key presses correctly. However FSUIPC isn't recognizing my key presses. I'm taking a simple button and assigning a keypress of "k" to it. When i open up my notepad and click to blink my cursor, and i push the button, it types a k. As it should. In FSUIPC I have assigned the K keypress to Flaps Down. I am in the default Cessna 172. Nothing happens in the plane when i push my button (my sim is un-paused), however if i push the k on my keyboard the flaps go down as they should. I've tried different buttons, encoders, keypresses and assignments. It's as if mobiflight isn't talking to FSUIPC? Any help you can give would be appreciated!

Hi.

First we can say... Mobiflight is working correct 100%. You say the Debugstring see the Button Push and confirm the Key sending sequence. Additional your "Notepad" Test confirm, too that Mobiflight do its job perfect.

So Issue must be outside of Mobiflight.
Please check the follow....

1. Get shure you run fsx in "active window" while you test the button. But i´m pretty shure you already done this cause your recheck with the K Button from real Keyboard was working.... But just for Confirmation... Was FSX the active Window or fullscreen while you test ??

2. Get your FSUIPC UptoDate. 4.938c is from late 2014 Early 2015... this is verry OLD !!
Please check for Update to current Version 4.969 (June 2017)
I think THIS is the problem....... Your FSUIPC is from a date where FSX STEAM Edition was still released... Maby there was a bug there that was fixed in a later verison of FSUIPC.

3. If 1 and 2 not help checkout if you got a conflict..... If i understand right your KEY is set in FSUIPC ( NOT via FSX internal Keysetting tab) . Get shure there is nou double Entry.... Delete the key binding in FSX if you like to set the key in FSUIPC..... Or otherwise delete a FSUIPC setting if you like to check/use the FSX internal function.

Please report if this helps,....
Good Luck !

Well I upgraded to the latest version of FSUIPC (thanks for the tip) and I deleted existing fsx key assignments to ensure no conflicts. I ran the simulator full screen and it still doesn't work. It's very bizarre because again the notepad types out the correct string so I know mobiflight is working great. Windows and everything else is seeing the key presses but not FSUIPC. Again, however, I can type the key presses manually on my keyboard and they work, so I know my assignments in FSUIPC are correct.

Any other suggestions?

I've also tried a different USB port on my computer for the arduino. Only other thing I can think that I haven't tried is a different computer. But that's an option if you think I should.

I bet your FSX runs with admin rights. Run MF with admin rights in this case too so that it has permissions to send the keys to FSX.
Have a great day!

Best general recommendation is to install FSX outside of "Program Files x86" - it saves you many headaches.
There are many add ons that are easier to install and work with FSX if e.g. you pick C:\FSX. But I don't know if you actually have the option for the Steam version.
Have a great day!

:w00t:
i remeber a Topic we talk about... " Is Admin Rights realy need for Mobiflight ? "
Sorry i always forget to ask this cause i use Admin Rights for EVERY Programm i run on my Computer all the time !

I think to prevent Problems we should put this in the Manual or in the FAQ .... Admin Mode is high recommend !
Good Luck !

OK, but admin-right concludes the propability that you can get virusses or other malware all over the computer. Therefore Microsoft installed the UAC (user access control).

The problem is that a lot of users install their applications in the default directories which were suggested by the applications which are write protectcted for "normal" system users.
Best is to install on every other drive than C:\. Then the admin-rights are not necessary.
Who won't reinstall his applications has to use the admin rights when starting an application. This can be firmly set (right mouse button on the icon, settings, compatibility and then the hook on "start program as administrator" - so you can never forget to start an application as admin).
