And tell us what your problem is exactly.

Shure we can help.

There's no problem yet :D . I just want to know some project that uses MobiFlight and 7 Segments Displays and how this displays are arranged in the project.

OK.

Note. Most AddOns ( PMDG, too) use normaly the FSX Internal Audio offsets to get compatible with Systems like Real Radio Camunication in Online Flights.
BUT: FSX Logic is verry old and so SOME Elements are NOT simulated.
In this situations the AddOn Aircrafts use a own internal Logic or maby "Dummy" Data. ( For Example The System not supports COM3 Frequency. But the Displays got this like Real Planes.... So they use maby a Fake Value for this. you can´t read this out or show on Display.

So finaly.... 90% of the Stuff can be done and it work 100% correct with for example Real Comunication.
The other 10% need to be moddified. Sometime you need improvise solutions... Some Things maby not working att all and need to set like a dummy.

And note finaly..... P3D is a little different to FSX. Please check the additional FSUIPC Commands and Events specialy for P3D. Maby you can do much more like me with FSX.

Just try out. If you got problems search this board or open a topic !
Good Luck !

I think to make the COMM, NAV, ADF and XPDR radios, pizman.

I would like to see some project photos of this radios that uses 7 segments displays to see how they are mounted...

Thanks captain for the infos!

If any captain is doing this project and can provide photos, I thank you.

Maby one of the Pilots here can do this..... But i know most people here in Board only talk about the software and programm part. If you need help with Building and "Do it Yourself" experience you should search for other boards.

Some Threads are existing here too. Myself i recommend to use Displays with removeable Diggits..... So it´s Posible to set a 6 Diggit Display instead of the pre mounted 8 Diggit Tubes.
If you plan a Element that not need to be backlighted or not need to have the exact dimensions like a Original B737 you can use the 8 Diggit Blocks, too. Simply mount them so, that the not needed diggits are covered by the Panel.

***********
By the Way....
COM and NAV with PMDG should work fine.
ADF is a little problematic... In Case that Microsoft not support a ADF Standby in the Past i think PMDG use a internal Value here you can´t show.

So i recommend to check this Out before you start building your panel ( Maby P3D is different here)
Only to prevent you to Build a Panel with StBY ADF and then you can´t use it. MABY you like to build a 1 Display ADF instead of the PMDG Style cause of this problem.
Good Luck !

In case of removable diggits, pizman, do I need some module to connect them to Mega or its connected directly to it?

Yes, not problem to me.

Huummm... very very important info. I'll make some tests before build the panel.

Pizman, I asked you about Mega in that other topic I posted... Here in Brazil is a little difficult to find original Mega, so, is there something (like the chipset, etc., etc.) that I have to look specificaly in Mega2560 when I would to buy it to prevent incompatibilities?

Hola Amigo

Display:.
You can NOT set the Diggits direct to the Arduino.... You need a Displaydriver Chip.
Mobiflight only work with MAX7219 Chips. ( Cause these are Cheap and easy)

Basicly you can buy a Max7219 Chip and Diggits and some Resistors and solder this DIY..... But thats a lot of work AND for example here in Europe the Chips aloan costs more then a complete Premounted Tube. So i would recommend the Premounted Tubes....

There are 3 kinds on the marked.... ( All include a PCB where the Max Chip is mounted and wired. )

1. Fixed Diggits like this....

Here you can NOT remove the Diggits. Use this only for Displays you need 8 Diggits or if you can cover them behind the Panel.
Additional Problem.... 99% of these tubes are Color RED and have the same size.

2. Removeable Diggits like this....

Here you can pull of the 2x4 Diggits and you can wire the Diggits you like ( Number, color, size )... Maby 1x6 or 2x3 for example. Get shure your diggits are common cathode !

3. LED Matrix like this....

This is basicly the same like Nr.2 but in another form. You pull the Matrix Element off an can wire Displays too. ( The Normal Display Tubes are better i think but maby you can get those MAtrix ones cheaper or better in brazil.)

****************

To the MEGA

We all here use Mega Clones.... In Europe a Original Arduino Cost 45-55 US$ . A Clone from China costs only maby 10 $.
Normaly we orderd this via Ebay or Amazon.... Shipping from China to Europe is mostly free . But it takes 4 Weeks or longer.

Check out if you can get chineese import. Same with Max7219 tubes.... Here it costs only 20% if we buy in china instead of german market.
Quality is OK. I Orderd over 50 items already from China.... No real problems until now!

For Mega please only get shure you order a MEGA 2560 R3 ... "normaly" all clones work fine !
Good Luck !

Hi there, pizman!

Precise and very important infos to me. I thank you so much!!!

I was taking a look in this modules and the measurements of the radios panels (frames panels) and see will not be a problem to use the modules with 8 digits. So, I'll probably buy it.

About the Mega... huumm... I can buy the clone. Great!

Thank you very much friend!
