Sorry... I don´knwo this fact....

Do you got the Motor already ? Why not try out this ?

Maby you simply have to double or half the Step range in settings menu... Standard is 2048
Try 1024 or 4096 and look if Test is make a full turning. ( Sim Value 1000 Test Value 1000 )
Good Luck !

Hi,
Thanks for the information, I already have the motor a Nema 8, speed and position are correct I was just looking for a more smoother precise movement.

I have now changed to the 28BYJ-48 stepper motor and this is much smoother and works great only the problem I have is this works great with an airliner or Cessna type aircraft but I'm using the JT Hawk and I have found the movement/rotation to be to slow when the aircraft is in a dive, do you know how to change the speed of the stepper motor ? can the config file that contains this information be edited to increase the motor speed ?

:-)

Cool. I just think about the Problem already in the Past.... But always thought there are no JET Pilots here in Mobiflight ( 98% build an Airliner or a Cessna)

At the moment a Full Turn tkaes maby 4 seconds.... Means 15 Turns per Minute are Posiblle and this would be 15.000 ft Climb/Descent Rate per Minute.
Enough for a Airliner but a litte to less for a Typhoon or a F35

Problem: personalised Input of Stepper speed is not impliment or planed at the moment.... Additional the Speed is for ALL Displays.... So youre Flaps Gauge is faster too for example.

Solutuon:
You can Request a personal test Version from Sebastian with a modified high Speed Setting for you ( To test this out... Maby Youre Motor itself is not be able to turn so fast !)
OR i would recomend to use a Cogwheel Gear 2:1 or 4:1 So 1 turning of Motor makes 2 or 4 Turning from Gauge.
With a modified config this should work... then youre limit increase to 30.000 FpM or 60.000 FpM
Good Luck !

Hi Pizman,
Sorry for the late reply, work sometimes gets in the way of sim building :( . I took your advice and changed the motor gear to 4:1 which seems to have almost done the trick, with the speed and postion of the altimeter almost complete I decided to add an encoder for the pressure setting, but I cant seem to get the encoder to show up in mobiflight. In the setting>module tab I added the encoder pin 41 and 51, named and uploaded the config to my board and everything seems to go ok I then assign a name to my config and selected the config wizard as normal, now when I go to the display tab and select my board and then to display type I have no encoder listed ? only pins, steppers and Servo's, no matter what I try I cant seem to get mobiflight to list the encoder, any ideas ?

Maby i understand you wrong.... But why do you try to set a Encoder as a output ??
Pin (LED) , Stepper and Servo are OUTPUTS!

Please confirm you create this Config Line in the INPUT Tab of Mobiflight.
Good Luck !

Hi Pizman,
 feeling a little stupid now, I've been so focused on the stepper motor over the last few weeks I just automatically went to the output tab, sometimes you just need someone to point out the obvious things life !

Thanks for all your help, its very much appreciated !
