Hi!

Im gonna build a radio stack with Nav 1,2 and Com 1,2

Is it possible to use Mobiflight for this? I read the tutorial for using the Com1 with a 7 segment LED.
Can this be easy fixed with more leds? I wanna use the mobiflight firmware for all the segments of the Radio Stack?

What kind of software has to be run in the background for this to work in the P3D v3 im using this radio stack for?

Thanks for a great product!

Hi, I would like to jump in with a similar question.

I am using an arcaze display module to show the frequencies of my radio panel. The panel has buttons for switching between com1 and com2.
Can I use mobiflight to switch the display from com1 to com2?
Or where would I have to programme this?

Thanks,
Michael

my proplem have my own radio panel now , com1+nav1.

how i made front panel whit text ?
if i print panel picture how made this REAL size ? about 160mm X 53mm
and proplem text not come good guality whit printer :(
have any solved this ?
or made better front panel ?
i think use kxl 155 panel.this is normal standard panel whit cessna 172-208

Hello Masawee,

I took corel draw and draw the panel by myself. After the upgrade to win 10 my corel didnt work any more and I switched to inkscape a freeware product. Ink scape provide for me the same function like the corel draw I had. After some tries to print I decided to let them CNC engrave and I choose the tutorial for using inkscape from the hispapanel homepage and let it engrave by lunx.dk . My first intention was to use a monitor to display the frequency but now i will try to use the 7 segment displays. To build the body of the radio i use super glue and hard foam panels from my local home depot.

Regards Christian

Hello Masawee

I tried to connect a 4 digit 0.36 7 segment CC to a matrix modul but without succsess. How did you get it working? Do you have some pictures for me? I am a little bit uncertain about my matrix modul and how the pins are named right.
What kind of dot matrix modul do you have - to my kit i have a 1088as

Thank you vey much.

Christian

HI Christian....

my first google-hit will help you maby..... http://www.best-microcontroller-projects.com/max7219.html

Scroll down. There is shown the numbering of Pins and the Matrix logic for the "1088as".

Hope this helps !
Good Luck !

Hello pizman82,

I know that page I need to know how to connect a 7 segment instead of a dot matrix to preasambeld kit that i bought. So I know that there a columns and rows but which pin wehre the common cathode for dig 0 -7 and which pin stands for the segments a-h? so there 8x8 Pins and 64 possibilities:confused:

thanks Christian

looking datasheet what 7-segment pins have pin A;B;C;D;E;F;G; and dot point.
and digit A1;A2;A3;A4 = 4 digit display. or d1,d2,d3,d4.

then looking max 7219 board same digit numbers and connect wires to this. same.
solden little wires board to 7-segment, then you have board and 7-segment connected, then looking 5 volt and gnd to board.
then connect CS,CLK;Din, pin to arduino pin number what you want, i use etc, 23,24,25,
and swap stdby-active button to arduino some pin number i use pin 21.
and connect encoder to A! ,A" to arduino pin i use 26,27.
and if need encoder button too.
led matrix use same pins then 7-segment display. i mean board have all same output what you use led matrix you can use same board at 7-segment too.
looking led matrix too same what pin have A;B;C;D;E;F;G.
and segment pin too D1-8 but 7-seg digit you need only 4.
and if use 1 digit 7-esegment too more you need D5 too.
i use 4 digit+1 digit my radio panel because flight sim com/nav use 5 digit numbers
1 additional digit solden same pin to board, A,B,C,D,E,F,G but digti D5 only this 1 digit display.
wery easy but lot work solden all little wires.
i use led matrix board and 4 digit display plus 1 digit display solden al lto led matrix board ,first i measure all pin places chip to board what have and then solden wires to board to display. i looking chip datasheet what pin use what digit/segment, google you found all what you need know led matrix pins, 7-segment pins, board pins, i has send phtos link other to forum you can looking.

THIS IS LIST WHAT PARTS AND SITE NEED LOOKING IF MADE RADIO PANEL
i hope help many peoples.

http://tronixstuff.com/2013/10/11/tutorial-arduino-max7219-led-display-driver-ic/
led matrix pins.

7-segment display pins
http://www.learningaboutelectronics.com/Articles/Max7219-4-digit-7-segment-LED-display-driver-circuit.php

1 digit 7-segment pin one possiple, what you use looking part datasheet but all at common cathode.
http://www.circuitstoday.com/arduino-and-7-segment-display

now you understand you need wires at A-G and dot point.
and 4 digit you need letters and data, D1-d4 and id use 1 digit more D5 too.

solden led matrix or 7-segment board holes to wire at display.

ewery a-g and dot point.
and d1-5
simple if looking first what is and how work.

then you need only connect board CS,CLK,Din to arduino
and 5volt and gnd.

thats you build 4 display you have com1 and nav1 ready.

1 radio need 4 display, com1 active+ standby
nac1 active and standby.

and second you need 2 button and 2 encoder

i use button at swap stdby to active this https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71bk10SR0QL._SL1300_.jpg
i orden cheap ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/5Pcs-Momentary-On-Off-Push-Round-Button-Micro-Mini-Power-2-Pin-Switch-Green-New-/401144475672?hash=item5d6612f018:g:B4EAAMXQ74JTVNnc

encoder i use this http://www.ebay.com/itm/10pcs-12mm-Rotary-Encoder-Push-Button-Switch-Keyswitch-Electronic-Components-/121993737161?hash=item1c6764b3c9:g:GowAAOSwU1FXQL76

hav 1 digit display. i used this.

Ah Ok. Now i understand.... Masawee suscribe maby a little bit difficult.....

In the link i post you there is shown what PIN is used for wich Column/Row
For Example Pin 9 = Row 1 ..... Pin 14 = Row 2 Pin 13 = Col 1 .... Pin 3 = Col 2 and so on....

ROWS are Common Cathode..... The Cathode of youre 7 segment Display (1 for every Diggit) must be set to these Rows.... also to pin 9,14,8,12, 1,7,2,5
Youre Datalines (Anode) to the Diggits (Elements and Decimalpoint) will be the Collumns..... Pin 13,3,4,10,6,11,15,16.

I DONT know if in this element the Columns/Rows got the same logic like in the 7 segment diggit. Maby there is absolutly confused and you have to try out. when lucky then Col1 = A Col2 = B and so on... But not sure.

BY THE WAY.... I advice you to use a other System thats much easyer like the Dot Matrix....
https://www.amazon.de/8-Digit-Display-MAX7219-Digital-Control/dp/B00P9277BE

You can Take the Diggits of the board and use other ones or wired them to use it away from the pcb.....
BUT IMPORTANT : the Logic of Pin Setup on the Board is the Same like on the most sold diggits. So you do not need to find aout and wire difficult.... Just put a 2x6 Conector on the board and wire it on youre Display.

Good Luck !

yes can use 8 digit board too, i have both 8 digit and led matrix but i use flight sim led matrix board because i use only half =4 digit display and adding only 1 digit to board soldening wires.easy made. because radio need only 5 digit and make radio panel about REAL size 160 x 53 mm no can use 0,36" display more than 5 .
and have real life size and show nice not have 8 digit
you see my google drive photos.
if can open , i no know, my first time i share photos :)

Hello Pizman82, Masawee,

Thank you very much much for sharing your knowledge and time to help me. I took the dot matrix thing because i could take the display away. Now with the amazon link i will switch to this, to find the pin stettings on a 7 segment ist quite easy. So if get the pin out from the 7 segement on the board i could easy adapted it to the cc 0.36 4 digit displays i have. The material and link list is also cool to have. After i get the 4 digit displays wired correctly up i will add a 1 digit to get a 5 digit display. My idea is to connect the single digit to the mobi mega as a led and set a precondition to the avionics master switch and so they should work only when the master switch is to set to on.

Thank you again

Christian

@ Masawee.
I agree.... But you can use those tubes same easy way.... The 8 Anode Pins A-H are cummon for both Displays....
Both 4 Digit Banks on the Tube got 12 Pins.... 4x Cathode d1-d4 and 8 anodes a-h .... If You want to use five Diggits you do not need to use the a-h Pins from second Bank.... you can use the Anodes from One bank for the 5.th Diggit too.... so you need only to get one Cathode (d5 for exmaple) from the second block.
This Method with those tubes is just better than the LED Matrix when you use 4 Diggit Segemnts cause there are wired correct already. Only put two 6x1 Dupont Housings on pcb and LED and the pin setup is working without changing wires.

@ Christian
Thats work. Just use the right resistor when you wire this extra Diggit. (I Think you want that this diggit always show "1")
But think about if this is profitable..... You need a special wire logic. If something goes demaged you need to find out. You need a seperate Config Entry.....
If you Use just some another Max7219 Modules and let MF control all 5 diggits in one Config so youre system is much logic and tidy. ONE MAX for ONE Display with ONE Cableharness... Maby 10-15 $ More More but tidy and less working time.
Good Luck !
