I need to use more than eight 7219 controlled 7-segment displays in
my application. Is it possible to use more than one daisy-chained string
of 7219's by adding another instance on a different set of pins on the
Arduino MEGA2560 or do I need one Arduino for each set of eight
displays?

If this is possible, how would the configuration of the devices look?

OK, answered the question myself by RTFM. The FAQ gives the information.

Additional Question.....

At the moment i´m in early planing Phase for my professional B737 MCp/Efis Combination.
So planing the Displays now is easyer then rewire it after MCP is finished and not work perfect......

Situation:
I Need 6 Displays.... They can be realised with minimum 4 Max Modules. ( Course L/R can be set on one Module together.... Speed/Heading too.)
For better Wire Logic i will prefered 6 Max Module. One for every Display each.
AND i will need 2 or maby 3 Arduinos/Mobiflight Boards to get all LED and Switches work.

NOW What is the recommend methode to get best performence with Mobiflight for 7 Segment Displays....

- Should i use the minimum of Max Modules (4) or can i work with 6 modules too without any problems or loosing performance ?
- Should i use all Modules in a Row on only 3 Pins at one board ? Is there a problem with Delays or flicker Displays then ?

- OR is it better to split the displays in more Rows with 3, 2, or extreamly every display with a own 3 Pin Device Config
- At least... Is it better to seperate the Displays to different Arduinos ? So i can hand out the displays to more Arduinos cause i need them already and everyone got 3 free Pins i think.
The Question is..... Get the CPU on the Ardiono in trouble with more Displays in a Row or with lots of Displays on only one single Arduino ??

Anybody got experience or information about ?
Good Luck !
