Hello all

is mobiflight compatible with arduino nano ?

it seem that it got a litlle more I/O than arduino pro for quite the same size

Hi capitainekurck!

Welcome to MobiFlight.

Negative, MobiFlight is NOT compatible with the Arduino Nano. 100% compatibility is granted with Arduino MEGA.
Support for other, like UNO is stopped.

Hi
Ha ok but it seem that in the package there is still the unop and mini pro firmaware.
It will be nice to have a nano firmware because it small and powerfull with a lot of I/O and it can be easily integrate in each module for short wirering and connet the module with a usb cable.

Hi Sorry for confusing.
I know the old firmware parts are still present. If you like you can order that baord an you can try if it work ( Lots of things work with UNO till now for example.)
We only say that this boards are not longer supported..... If something is wrong ( Like at the moment encoder not work with UNO i think) we will NOT fix this issues.
AND in Future the new technics we plan to implement will NOT designed for that boards.... "Maby" they work .... maby Not.
Feel free to use those Controllers but please not plan for Support of us in case of trouble !

And my standard comment about your suggestions..... I said multiple times here....
A Mega is cheap ( below 10$) and it can be placed in every element i see in lots of cockpits in the past. simply plan your Panels a bit larger . ( Shure you scale it 1:1 like real in width and hight... But "depth" is not limmited.... Make your panel simply 10cm "deeper" and you got a lot of space to mount a Mega ! )
Good Luck !

HI
ok i understant. And i make a little search on the net, and i see that with a mega it probably dont work as it can't act as a usb hid.

What are you planing for ??

For Mobiflight a Board not need to be a HID. Mobiflightboards are NOT detect like Joysticks.... they are just a ComPort Device that only Mobiflight will work with.
So your right basicly.... a Mega is no HID ( Only if you flash a new system with atmel Flip in DFU Mode)

If you like to use your Controller as a Joystick for Inputs, then your question is wrong placed.... In this case your board is not used via Mobiflight ! It is indipendent and work as a own System. Here you can use every board that is supported by the Programm you use for joystick emulation....

Note: A controller used for mobiflight ( MEGA) is changed into a Mobiflight Board when you upload firmware..... At that moment it can NOT used for other things aslong you delete the firmware again. A Double use like 10 Pins with Mobiflight and 10 Pins as a Joystick or with a own sketch is NOT possible !

Also Note: It is possible to use multiple Arduinos same time.... for example some Megas as Mobiflightboards and some Leonardos as HID Josticks !
Good Luck !

Hallo,
