Hey all
It's been a while since my last post here. New baby, new house and new job kept me pretty busy lately:blink:
Anyhow, I'm getting back to my sim build especially because of the latest MF release and its support of analog inputs (THANK YOU devs).
Still a bit rusty but I think, something's not quite right.

I'm trying to control NAV2 OBS bug in X plane with an absolute encoder AS5600. It is basically a potentiometer with full 360 degrees range and continuous rotation.
The Input in Mobiflight connector is set to 0C5E Offset so when I run the program it's actually getting through and I can see the compass rose turning in the sim as I turn my "pot".
Problem is that the pot reads 0-1023 whist this particular offset needs an input of 0-359.
At this point, I would have gone to the "transform" line and enter a formula like @*359/1023. However, there isn't a "transform" line but "set value" line. Whatever is entered there (except for the @ itself) just breaks things up.
The compass rose in the sim is now either jumping randomly or it's not reacting at all.

I'm really stuck here, can anybody replicate this problem or suggest a solution, please?
Thanks
Jay

just managed to test this with MSFS and FSUIPC7.
Although NAV 2 offset is not supported yet, NAV 1 works in exactly the same way as described in the post above:cry:

Don't know how to get around this..

Edit:
ok, it seems to be a bug. Issue filed at GitHub

How did you get on with this?
I read in the "Expression Syntax Guide" that Formulas can only be entered for outputs (values that are output by the simulator). You cannot use Transform for Inputs?
Is there a way to map the range of values output from a pot to the range of values required for an offset's input?

Hi

Since this posting was done (2021) a lot of things change in MobiFlight.

YES.... We now can also do Formulas in Inputs.... Specially in Poti Stuff.
Additional (For FS2020) we can write RPN Code as we like. So also for Inputs nearly everything is possible !
Good Luck !
