Hello from the Vienna area!

I want to split a board into two boards (due to shift some components)

But now I have e.g. the flaps, the gear lights etc. on the former board and would like to move all this to the new one.

My question:

is there a way to just copy something here or do I have to re-enter it all?

Jetzt habe ich aber zB die Flaps, die Fahrwerksanzeigen etc. auf dem ersteren Board und möchte dies alles auf das neue verschieben.

Meine Frage:

gibt es eine Möglichkeit, hier etwas einfach zu kopieren oder muss ich das alles neu eingeben?

That seems a bit problematic to me because:
- in MobiFlight there are two files. Once the ....mfmc file. It lists all devices that are to be connected to a board
- then the ....mcc files, in which the configurations for the devices of the .mfmc files are listed.

With a text editor (e.g. Notepad++) you can "manipulate" both files by "moving" the devices from one to the new one.
The same goes for the configuration lines from the .mcc file

If you want to take over an entire configuration file or append to an existing file, MobiFlight has a merge command. You can find this under FILE -> MERGE. However, the devices from the mfmc file are NOT taken over. You would then have to insert them manually, making sure that no pins are entered twice.
When starting MobiFlight it can happen that so-called "orphaned modules" (orphaned modules) are complained about. The reason for this is that the old module designations are still present in the transferred configuration lines. Then select the appropriate board and assign it to the new board. Then the old board identifiers are converted to those of the new board. Please save afterwards, otherwise the game will repeat itself the next time you start it ;-)

Why is this so "complicated"? Well, that's due to the separation of devices (devices -> mfmc) and configuration lines (configs -> mcc).
This makes it possible to replace a defective board and to create a clone of the old board just by reinstalling the mfmc file. The configuration file remains unaffected and MF continues to run as if nothing happened. You can also create board copies in this way or send these files so that another user can build everything up in the same way. Basically, it is not complicated at all, but rather comfortable-

Das scheint mir etwas problematisch, denn:
- bei MobiFlight gibt es zwei Dateien. Einmal die ....mfmc-Datei. In ihr sind alle Devices gelistet, die an ein Board angeschlossen werden sollen
- dann die ....mcc-Dateien, in denen die Konfigurationen fur die Devices der .mfmc-Dateien aufgelistet sind.

Mit einem Texteditor (z.B. Notepad++) kannst du jeweils beide Dateien "manipulieren", indem du die Devices aus der einen in die neue "verlegst"
Ebenso geht dies mit den Konfigurationszeilen aus der .mcc-Datei

Wenn du eine komplette Konfigurationsdatei übernehmen oder an eine bestehende Datei anfügen möchtest, hat MobiFlight das Kommando Merge. Dies findest du unter DATEI -> MERGE. Dabei werden allerdings die Devices aus der mfmc-Datei NICHT mit übernommen. Die müßtest du dann händisch einfügen und dabei darauf achten, daß keine Pins doppelt eingetragen sind.
Beim Start von MobiFlight kann es dann vorkommen, daß sog. "orphaned Modules" (verwaiste Module) beklagt werden. Das liegt dann daran, daß in den übernommenen Konfigurationszeilen noch die alten Modulbezeichnungen vorhanden sind. Hier dann das entsprechende Board auswählen und dem neuen Board zuweisen. Dann werden die alten Boardkennungen in die des neuen Boards umgewandelt. Danach bitte speichern, sonst wiederholt sich das Spiel beim nächsten Start auf's Neue ;-)

Warum ist das so "kompliziert"? Nun, das liegt an der Trennung von Geräten (devices -> mfmc) und Konfigurationszeilen (configs -> mcc).
So ist es möglich, ein defektes Board auszutauschen und nur indem die mfmc-Datei neu aufgespielt wird, einen Klon des alten Boards herzustellen. Die Konfigurationsdatei bleibt davon unberührt und MF läuft so weiter, als sei nichts passiert. Ebenso kann man sich auf diese Art und weise Board-Kopien anlegen oder diese Dateien verschicken, damit ein anderer User sich alles ebenso aufbaut. Es ist im Grunde also gar nicht kompliziert, sondern eher komfortable-

Dein Wunsch ist eher "ungewöhnlich".
Meist wollen user nur ein Board duplizieren.... Dafür haben wir ein Tool! Oder eben 2 Porjekte zusammenführen ( Auch dafür gibts ein Tool).
Ich möchte sagen du bist der erste ein 10 Jahren der ein Projekt "trennen" will :-)

Neu eingeben musst du es nicht. Aber es geht nicht über die UI sondern indem du die MFMC Dateien manuell bearbeitest.

Hallo und danke euch beiden! Das mit den Listen scheint mir jetzt doch zu unsicher zu sein, daher habe ich es lieber 'händisch' gemacht.

Der Grund für das Aufteilen auf zwei Boards war, weil ich den EFIS mitsamt des Boards verschoben habe, aber einige Schalter und LEDs (Gear, Autobreak etc.) an der alten Stelle gelassen habe. Da wollte ich nicht die vielen Leitungen verlängern. Und die Boards sind ja echt billig zu kriegen.
Ich hatte mir das schwerer vorgestellt, als es dann war:
Ich musste nur die Ein- und Ausgänge am neuen Board neu eingeben und dann die geänderten Funktionen des alten Boards nur aufs neue Board umbenennen.

Ich habe jetzt in Deutsch geschrieben, weil ich schon im Bett liege und für englisch schon zu müde bin.
