Hello everyone, first of all congratulations for the great work that is being done from this community to help us to build our own devices to make even more realistic our immersion in the world of simulation.

I am not sure if this topic has already been discussed previously in the forum but I have not found it. I come from the x-plane world and I have started a new home made project starting with a display and some buttons. The max7219 7-segment display with 8 digits where I visualize, through two buttons assigned to a variable, for example the HDG values (three digits) and the COM1 frequency (6 digits). The problem I observe is that when I change from the COM1 frequency to the HDG values, the first four digits of COM1 are still present inside the HDG information, i.e. the display is not initialized to present the HDG values leaving the rest of the unused digits blank.

I provide a youtube link where you can see the effect I have explained.

I apologize for my English.

Regards.

Hi

This is not a issue.... this is a feature... Or better this is the logic MF works.

I can not see your Configs but i expect you use the 6 Diggits on the Right for COM but just the most 3 right diggits for the Heading.
And i expect for sure you use Preconditions in these configs ( to a Mode Config) where you define what is currently showing.

Now Problem.....
If a Config get disabled ( by no longer fit the Precondition) then it stop working ( no longer send new data to the Arduino) ....
But the last shown data is still on the Display aslong somebody else tell the Display it should show something else.
So when you Disable a Config it NOT send Blank to the Display.... It simply stop and the last value remain.

Solution:
Simply enlarge the used Diggits....
So your Heading Display ALSO use the same Diggits like the COM.
You can use the "Left Padding" Logic to remain the 3 Right Diggits with spaces.....
Or you can say in transform something like ' '$ to get sure they are blanked.

Important is....
The current active Config (Heading) must include all the Diggits..... To tell the Display they must be Blank !
Good Luck !

Thank you very much, I will try the "transform" option.

Additional Note.....

You can also work meanwhile with multiple configs here if the transform/padding is difficult.

Lets say in Mode 1 there is ONE Config for COM (Digit 1,2,3,4,5,6)
In Mode 2 there is at the moment also ONE Config for HEading (Digit 4,5,6)

So you can simply create another Config for Mode 2 that is set the Digits 1,2,3 to Spaces .... Only work if Mode 2 (Heading) is active.

Only important for us is.... The 3 Remaining digits must be set (while Heding mode) to Spaces.
Good Luck !
