This weekend I created a basic panel with encoders and buttons for use with MSFS 2020, for my neighbor. Everything worked beautifully on my computer. I gave him the panel, and emailed him both the .mcc and .mfmc files. He loaded them into MF, and all the hardware is there. On the input config page, all of the functions I setup are there. But nothing worked. I had him click the edit button on each line, and under the input tab, none of the input settings I had setup were present. It was completely blank.

What am I missing here? Is there not a way to share your completed setup with someone else and have all the assignments transfer with the file? Now one thing that I did figure out was he had downloaded the very last version, while I had setup everything on the version prior. Would that have caused all the input settings to not populate?

At first....
To make this work 100% there is a 3rd factor....
He need your MCC File.... He need the MFMC File ( he upload to his Mega)
AND .... All the Wirework must be done 100% identically. So the Button you use e.g. on Pin 5 must be also on Pin 5 on his Mega !!

About Problem:

Confirm your friend use correctly the "Orphand Modules" PopUp and set it to the right Board !

Means.... You send him your MCC File.... And he Upload a Board with your MFMC File so it use "identical" devices ..... BUT
His Arduino have a different Serial Number that yours! ... the MCC File still remains the old Serial Number from Your Mega!
In that case Mobiflight after first time load this file ask him
" Hey.... The Board this MCC file is using is not exist anymore on this new computer.... BUT there is another Arduino Named xxxyyyzzz here... Is this the one i should looking for ? "

If your friend here say YES and set this Board as the target THEN Mobiflight understand this and will see the Buttons, LED and so on named 100% same there ( in case of the MFMC Upload) ..... And finally MF will overwrite your old ID number of your board with the new one from your friend!
Then MF will use all the Devices 1:1 cause the setup is the same .

About Versions.
In the Past MF was UP and DOWN Compatible.... With 9.6 ( First time ever) we are no longer down Compatible this single time.
But! This is no factor here.
Your friend can use a file from 9.5 or before with his 9.6 ...... Just reversed a user who still use 9.5 or prior can NOT use a file that was saved with newest 9.6 !

Thanks for that information! We were able to get it running. I should have clarified that he had given me the Arduino to connect and program, so it was literally unplugged from my PC and then connected to his. I'm not sure if he said "yes" on the orphaned serials question or not, but nonetheless it's working. Thank you!
