I just downloaded the MobiFlight-Installer and launched it, but I get the message "exception not handled by the application", and I can't go on. I created a folder on the Desktop where I put the installer and the only action that happens before it warns me of the error is that it loads several files and folders into the folder. The arduino is not yet installed on my PC.
You can help me? Thank you

Hi
This can have multiple reasons.

Mostly its a problem of Write Protection, Admin rights and Antivir/Firewall.

At First....

Please Download our official Installer File here on the Homepage Main Menue.
Then COPY it from your Download Folder into a self created Folder.
Avoid Desktop/ Windows Folders, Programmfilesx86 and so on.
I recommend for Testing simply make a folder on the "root" like C:/Mobi If you have a seccond HDD then prefer it... e.g. D:/Mobi
Finally RUN the installer.exe WITHIN this folder.
( You can also RUN the unstaller with Admin Rights.... Not official recommend. But i would do it so)

If all is fine then it was a write protection issue.
If it still get trouble then its a firewall Problem.
Our Installer NOT include MF Files.... It just create the struckture and DOWNLOAD the needed Data directly from GitHub.
If you have a verry strictly Firewall then maybe this download is blocked !
So simply disable firewall temporary or make a exception for MF so it can talk to the Web !

Hi, sorry to hijack this thread but I am having the same problem trying to install mobiflight on Win 7 32 bit. I get an error (0x000007b) when I try to run the installer. I have tried the firewall and admin rights suggested but still unable to run it. Very frustrated, any advice would be great

Thanks
Chris

Thanks Pizman, I am not familiar with Discord, do I just create a new thread under the 'Installation' text channel?

Hi

Sorry but i also not know the exact required software to run MF.
(Here i´m also just a simple user..... Only Sebastian maybe know this, but he also not care about)

Basic idea.....
We test our Releases on a Computer with UpToDate Windows 10. So we not "know" if a special Update of Windows was needed to be compatible..... Simply cause we expect that all users have a UpToDate Windows.

So whatever this is not a perfect thing.... I recommend if problems happen to update !!ALL!! Drivers on the Computer first.

A Computer is a sensible constuction.
I remember to a problem where a game crash into a BSOD after 10 Minutes everytime.
The key was a Update of the BIOS !! Unbeliveable but the BIOS Verson occure in a MEM Overflow just in that special situation of this one game.
Good Luck !
