Maybe this is a problem in case of translation.
Also its not the best thing, but people who create the Presets in HubHop choose for a name that is logical to "them". It not must be logical to everybody.

I not know if there exist special Presets here e.g. for the C172 ... But mostly we use....
For the Heading Bug the Events like "AP Heading INC/DEC" or "Heading Bug"
Simply search for "Heading" und try out the matches.... I'm pretty sure its there!

For the Other Knob "Gyro" is the most used term. So no longer think about the name.... Search for Gyro and try out the matches. I'm again pretty sure there exist already a INC/DEC Event to handle this.

Additional some People use a "Press" here. I don“t know if this exist in Real. In Sim some addons/sims allow to use Shortkeys to SET the systems automaticaly.
E.g. with the "B" Key we set local QNH directly on the Altimeter without need to turn it in.
And we can also build a Button that set the current Mag Course directly to that Heading Indicator.
And for sure we can also build the other Button in the HEading Indicator in a way that a Press will set Heading Bug directly to the current Heading of Aircraft !
Good Luck !

I originally did look for anything that contained "heading" but found nothing that would work. (I did not look on HubHop, but in MF itself).

In any case, I believe I have what I need with the "gryo drift" and it seems to work very well. Gyro Drift has INC and DEC making it easy for setting it up also. So there is no need in digging into this anymore unless you want to. I'm satisfied with what I have. (Of course, down the road it might prove that I needed something else, but not yet.)

You "guys" can expect a donation out of me soon! I'm impressed!

Hi,

in order to find the variables used in FS2020 you may consult https://docs.flightsimulator.com/html/Programming_Tools/SimVars/Aircraft_SimVars/Aircraft_System_Variables.htm
Here all variables are listed with their usage and units.
For heading you will find:
Variable Description Unit
HEADING INDICATOR Heading indicator (directional gyro) indication Radians

Bear in mind that the programmers of this software are neither aviation engineers nor pilots and don't know much about aviation.
I have been trained in the armed forces as an aircraft engineer for 70th/80th jet aircraft navigation systems and to me a gyro is a chunk of metal rotating in a casing mounted in a 3dof frame in an aircraft. It is aligned to true north at startup with the help of a magnetic compass and the earth's rotation and during the flight it drifts (precession). This drift is mostly compensated electronically and can be overridden with one of the knobs of the heading indicator (HSI or the like). Two main forces of gyro drift are the earth rotation and the Coriolis effect. One device for compensating the drift is the Schuler pendulum.

cheers

Volker
