I purchased the flap control lever from Aviation Training. Before purchase they told me plug and play. Right, Do I need the MobiFlight to make work. New to the sim world so confused. Not sure if correct room but thought I would start here. I have purchased my radio stack (com1 /2, nav1/2, transponder, KNTS/distance, from propwash. I had to down load the FSUIPC4 and then the propwash program which I think is some what like MobiFlight. Any help would be appreciated. Its just a flap lever lol.

Hi
Welcome to Mobiflight !

Let me say.... You startup your trip into the flight sim world a little planless.

Basically.... Each Device you like to use must be finally "talk" with the Sim.

The most rudimentary way is a HID Device ( Joystick) This Element ( Input) is shown as a Joystick Gamecontroller in Windows.
So you can assign Funtions to it directly in the Sim !
Best example here is already the Joystick. Windows see it without any more Software needed. and in the Sim you can e.g. set Rudder or Throttle to it by the Sim internal Controll Options.

Another elements are "Premade Panels" Like you tell us. Those Parts are mostly Plug&Play. Means the Manifactur gives you a Driver/Software that build the Sim connection!
Pay attention. Here we start to talk about compatibility.
You need to know what Sim you use ( When talk about FSUIPC4 i expect you have FSX) . Those Software often is not compatible for all things.
E.g. some are located to special Sims ( e.g. not allow usage in Xplane) . Others are located to special Aircrafts ( e.g. not allow usage with AddOns like PMDG)
For sure. Mostly these Manifacturs also support you.... If a new Sim comes out (like FS2020) they will update there Software and allow you to also use it there.
Big Problem: Your dependent to this Guys. You mostly can not work custom or individualy. You must eat what you get !

At last.... Self build Panels. Here Mobiflight comes up.
Our Software is build to controll self build hardware. E.g. you can wire a 30 cent cheap Switch to a Controller (Arduino Mega) . Mobiflight include the comunication from that Controller to the Computer..... and it also allow you to define what the switch should do via our PC Side Connector Software.
MF is compatible to FSX,P3D,FS2020 and with some disadvantage also to Xplane

A Special point is finally "Mobiflight for Premade Stuff"
If the HArdware in e.g. a premade RadioPanel is compatible to Mobiflight.... For example if the manifactur use also a Arduino System, Max7219 for the Displays and so on....
YES. Then you can use Mobiflight for it , too. ( So you no longer have to work with there own software anymore)
You can also use Mobiflight for Premade HID Devices ( Input) , like every Joystick can be set via Mobiflight.

If Hardware is not compatible then reworks are needed or its simply not possible to work with MF here.

*****************

My recommendation to you !

Stop buying Things !!!
At first you need to know WHAT you like to do. What Sim you use, What Aircrafts you like to Fly ( Addons maybe). And If you looking forward to build Panels DIY or just use Premade Stuff. So if you like to spent time to buiold own configuratios or if you like to spent money to buy premade Software solutions !

THEN you can order exactly the parts you need, and start learning the right Software ( e.g. Mobiflight) to controll them .
Without this logic you waste money!
Good Luck !
