I just downloaded the beta version and want to use input shift registers- do I use 74hc595's or should i be using another chip?
The 74hc165's need 4 wires for data, but the configuration setting in mobiflight only ask for 4- Latch, Clock, and Data.

Thanks

Hi

Badly the Guys, who build the Input Shifters are not here on Forum.....
https://discord.gg/99vHbK7 They are on our Discord !

I can not help here. I was against the Input shifters and also will not use them in the future.
So this is maybe the only part (incl. Output Shifters) in MF i will not be able to give any Support !
Good Luck !

Hi Phlflysim,
why do you say the 165s require 4 wires? They don't. Maybe you count the Clock Inhibit (CLK INH) pin, which should be tied to ground (it usually already is in breakout boards).
Are you using ICs directly, or a purchased breakout board? In this case, what input connector do you have, and what labels are written on it?

I've got these Sparkfun 74HC165 Shift-in breakout boards.

The other packaged boards seem to be very similar so we could use a definitive guide on the mapping for clock, latch & data (and which ones go to ground and +5v).

I have similar problems. I would solve it with a 16 channel analog multiplexer, but I don't know which 3 wires to connect to Arduino. Either way, I only try to light the first C0 LED. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for the answers and help!
