I've just set up my first encoder/switch panel. Great fun and doing almost everything I wanted. But some advice on the following would be welcome:

i) I'm unable to set the transponder state in any aircraft (stock or third party). MSFS2020-Events "TransponderSTBY" etc do nothing when attached to a rotary switch (which is clearly firing in debug mode). I'm out of options to try to fix this. Advice welcomed.

ii) Similarity the Transponder Ident event doesn't seem to work (in any aircraft) - not sure if this is related to i) or not.

iii) I'd like to be able to set the fuel pump on the Just Flight PA-28 Turbo Arrow to "Lo" & "High" settings. But can only see a way to turn the fuel pump on or off. Again advice would be welcomed.

Happy to provide more info, screen shots etc. Everything else working nicely. Rotary switch letting me toggle between COM1, COM2, NAV1 inputs etc... Toggle switches for lights, push buttons for transfer of frequencies, encoders for heading bugs etc... If I can get the above to work I can move on to designing version 2...

Thanks for the nice request !

We still get the needed informations.... You confirm your Input workes (by check the Debug) and you also confirm the Sim Connection ( WASM Module) is correctly installed when you tell us the other Elements work already pretty well!

So only remaining Problem.... The functions you request for are not working... Means he lsited Events in MObiflight Preset List are not working for you.

Reason. There can be some "wrong events" there... We not be able to test them each single. Lots of them are created by other users. So we need to trust into them they have tested them. ( What is done in 99% of cases gladfull! )

A bigger factor.... The Sim is still in Beta Progress.... Means Asobo change Events sometimes on every Sim Update. So often our listed events work some weeks ago but no longer now.... And aslong nobody report this or change them in the lists we again can not know this.


Solution:
1. Update the EventList.... Click on FS2020 and "Update HubHop EventList"
2. Restart Sim ( New Events are working only after a Sim Restart)
3. Check again if the newest List Entrys now work (Maybe they was reworked already)
IF NOT
Then we need to figure out the problem....
Mostly there exist multiple Events.... Pretty sure we have 5-10 different AP ALT Events....
Simply test all you can find..... Hopefully one is working!

IF NOT
Then we need to try to find the Event by check the Sim DEV Mode Logging.
Mostly here we come to a blocking point.... If the needed things are B or O Variables then we can not read it at the moment.... Asobo not allow this for now to 3rd Party Software.
In that case we need to think improvisional.... E.g. fire a VJOY Input and select the needed Function in Sim to this Joystick Button.

Using discord/hubhop and through some trial and error, I have made some progress. To summarise for others:

1. PA28 Turbo Arrow Fuel Pump - FIXEd. I am now able to select Lo or High. For Lo: Custom input "2 (>L:CENTRE_LOWER_fuelpump)". For Hi: "0 (>L:CENTRE_LOWER_fuelpump)". Awesome.

2. The transponder mode is also working for the C152 (at least) - also using custom inputs: 0 (>A:TRANSPONDER STATE:1,enum) etc... Thanks "LTMcComb"! The ident also works.

3. But the Just Flight PA28 only appears to support an encoder for changing transponder mode (https://hubhop.mobiflight.com/#/presetview/3508c712-4378-4526-8874-5ea4e21a5748). I have a 5 position switch all ready to go. Has anyone solved a similar problem where to understand whether to trigger ON-LEFT or ON-RIGHT you would need to track the old position of the switch and the new position (e.g. if oldpos < newpos then trigger_right ; else if oldpos > newpos trigger_left)? My scripting skills are not up to this tonight - if mobiflight could support it at all???

It would seem a lot easier just to be able to set the mode directly for the transponder....

Do you already try out the Microsoft Generic Events ???

Mostly Transponder is a verry basic thing.... Hopefully the PA28 use also the standard system....
So maybe your Input not change the Button in the Piper Cockpit.... But it change the Sim internal Function ( And thats the only importnat for us)

Contact him on Discord....
Tell him what you need.
I´m sure he simply build this event in case he use a Encoder.... Normaly he can write you another event (custom code) that it also work for a Switch instead of a Encoder !

Hi. Thanks. Now fixed, thanks to a quick detour trying to make it much more complicated than it needed to be At least this made me read and try to understand the docs a lot better.

It turns out that : (L:KT76_mode_knob). Can be used to set the transponder on the PA28 (0: Off, 1: SBY, 2n, 3:Alt, 4:Test).

Now I have just one more question... But I'll see if anyone on Discord can help on that - its a nice to have..

Every supporter got its "special" part.... Stephan is the "electrical guy", i´m the "Formula Guy".
And for FS2020 and RPN Code and Events people like JaimeLeon or Tuomas and some others are the Pro-Users.
BUT
They are normaly not active here in Forum.... They prefer DISCORD.
So.... For this FS2020 Questions, Discord is the much more better place to ask !
