In the software of the FS2020 sim, or the Mobiflight software is there any difference between the elevator parameter (yoke) and the elevator trim parameter (trim wheel)? If I have inputs from 2 different arduino pins for elevator (yoke) and elevator trim (trim wheel) does it make any difference how Mobiflight (and the FS2020) receive and interpret these inputs? I am not an expert, but it seems to me that both inputs (potentiometer and/or encoder) do the same thing, raise or lower the nose.

These are 2 fully different things in real !

For sure it both occure in the same effect! But thats just optical that both pitch up/down your nose.... There are 2 different elements in real !

If you move your Stick/Yoke you directly controll the elevator UP and DOWN ..... So also your nose goes Up and Down.
This Input will not change the Elevator Trim Value.... The TrimTab remain in its position while you use the Elevator controlls.

If you change the TRIM, then you just move the Trim Tab

This occure in a Situation that the Air ( While in flight) flows over the Wing ( Elevator) and get blocked by the TrimTab.... So the Power of the Wind push the Elevator itself UP or DOWN ( whatever you trim) . Technical same way, as you would do this "force" by hand with your Yoke/Stick.
So yes.... If you "trim" then also the Elevater Main Value change, cause this will "push" the Elevator up or down ! Thats the way Aerodynamics works !

In theory if the simulation is fine, a trim on Ground without Wind component should not change the Elevator Axis ..... Without wind, there is no force that move the elevator itself !
Good Luck !
