Good Morning,

there are several posts already here reg. Max7219 and different modules sizes. Eg. here: https://www.mobiflight.com/forum/topic/6607.html and here https://www.mobiflight.com/forum/topic/6869.html

Cheers

OH! Yes. I am sorry, here is the link. Basically this is a 8 digit 7 seg display connected to a MAX 7219 on a small PCB board. Very compact and convenient. Unfortunately it has 8 digits, when the heading needs only 3 digits (example 000 to 359). I am looking for this pre-made board shown in the link below (from Amazon) with 3 digits, or a circuit diagram that shows me how to connect a Max 7219 to 3 digit LED 7 seg displays and a rotary encoder and a arduino mega. If there is a PCB board that I can buy, I can mount the Max 7219 and the 3 digit 7 seg displays and the encoder, then I can solder the components on the PCB and get the stuff shown below, but with 3 displays instead of 8. If I can buy the whole thing already made that would be the best.

I also tried the hyperlink button. Anyway, please copy and paste.

Hi

The link show a "MaxTube" ( thats how we called it here)
These are the Standard Tubes ( Blue PCB) with solder Diggits.... and Yes. 99% are Red and normaly all have 8 Diggits !
I never saw some with 3 .... But thats no Problem!

You have multiple ways!

1. Forget the Encoder.... thats a INPUT!
We currently talk about the Display.... So a PCB or a System to handle the disolay itself.
If you need a Encoder you can mount it next to the Display in your Panel and wire both to a Mega.
The Display and Max Chip have nothing to do with the encoder itself... So 2 Fully different Things !

2. Selfbuild by Wires
The cheapest and most direct way is to use a "different" Max Tube... Like THIS: (with green PCB)

Those have "removeable Diggits" You can pull of the 2x4 Display blocks and then you have 2x12 open Pin Connectors.
Then you can wire every 1-8 Digit Display ( Common cathode) to this Pins.

3 PCB
The best and perfect way is to use PCB.
We currently build them for our usage and maybe want to sell them
If you join our DISCORD https://discord.gg/99vHbK7 Stephan can show you Pictures.

For sure you could also Design a Complete PCB yourself including the Max Chip, the Display and your Encoder.

Summary: the question is... How perfect should be the result ?
Good Luck !
